FAQ - iOS App - Football Draft Kit 2018
Please check out our list of frequently asked questions below.
  • Does the app automatically mark off players who have been drafted in my league?
No. You must mark off the players as they are drafted. Mark a player as drafted by swiping a player, or by tapping a player and assigning to a team.

  • How do I edit the settings to match my league's settings?
Use the "Settings" area in the app. On the iPhone, settings can be accessed by tapping the menu icon (3 horizontal bars) in the upper left. On the iPad, the "Settings" button is at the bottom of the screen. Once in settings, tap a draft to input your league's settings.

  • How do I change the team names?
Go into Settings. Tap the current draft. Tap "Add/Edit Teams". On that screen you can tap on a team to change the name. Note: If you are using the "Draft Just My Team" option, there is no option to "Add/Edit Teams", you just select the number of teams in a draft.

  • How do I change the order of teams in a draft?
Go into Settings. Tap the current draft. Tap "Add/Edit Teams". Use the 3-bar icons on the right to drag teams to different spots. Note: If you are using the "Draft Just My Team" option, There is no option to "Add/Edit Teams", you just select the number of teams in a draft.

  • I just updated the data, why isn't anything showing?
Please try updating the data again; the download may have been interrupted. Make sure that you can get to RotoWire.com, some employers block access to our website and that can interfere with the data update.

If the update continues to fail, as a last resort, we suggest exporting your draft info to our servers, delete the app, download the app again for free, then import your data.

  • Why are no players showing up on the cheatsheets?
Make sure that you are viewing the rankings under All or Available, and not Drafted players.

If that doesn't help, make sure your Roster Settings are correct and your league has roster spots that position.

Finally, try updating the draft data. The last update might not have completed successfully.

As a last resort, we suggest exporting your draft info to our servers, delete the app, download the app again for free, then import your data.

  • Why isn't Assign Player showing anything when I type in a player name?
External devices can sometimes cause issues with the Assign Player feature. Disabling Bluetooth keyboards, etc. may fix the issue.

  • Can I set my own rankings?
You can set your own rankings for drafts, but not auctions. Go to the "Rankings" button at the top of the Cheatsheets. From there, tap on "Manual Rankings" and tap on "Edit Manual Rankings". Then you can tap on the 3 bars on the right side of a player cell and drag that player to where you would like them ranked. Once you're done editing the ranks, tap "Done".

  • Does the app require an internet connection to use during my draft?
No, but it is recommended that you update your data as close to your draft day as possible to get the latest information.

  • Can I use the app for multiple drafts?
Yes, do this by going to Settings, click 'Create New Draft'.

  • What types of draft styles does the app support?
The app supports drafts and auctions. The app is flexible so different draft orders aren't a problem.

  • Can I sort by anything other than value-based rankings or custom (manual) rankings?
Yes. On the iPad, you can sort by the stats displayed at the top of the cheatsheet. On the iPhone, you can tap "Rankings" for drafts and "Sort" for auctions to select new ways to order.

  • The app doesn't have all the scoring settings that my league uses, what should I do?
The app tries to accommodate as many leagues as possible, but may not have all your league's scoring categories. Input all of your matching scoring settings and the app will get you very close to the best rankings for your league. Please keep in mind some categories are very random and nearly impossible to predict and may not affect rankings. If you feel we're missing categories that will affect rankings, please contact us at support@rotowire.com

  • After entering my league scoring criteria, there are some lower-tier players ranked very high that shouldn't be. Is the app working correctly?
Check to make sure you entered your scoring criteria correctly. One small mistake can make a big difference.

  • I set up the app for an auction and the dollar values don't seem to be right. What's going on?
First, verify that your settings are correct, bad settings can cause issues with values.

Negative dollar values are normal, they are used to indicate when there are differences in player values. If all lower-level players were valued at $1, there would be no way to tell which lower-level player is better.

Please note that predicting dollar values for every type of auction is difficult because each auction is unique. Use our values as a general guide, but you must factor in the bidding style of your opponents.

  • What does logging into the app with my RotoWire account do?
We offer the ability to import and export your draft information from our site. Logging in also allows you to comment on articles within the app.

  • Why are the rankings not in line with the points?
    The rankings are value-based rankings.

  • What are value-based rankings?
These are rankings which factor in your league's roster settings, the scoring settings and the number of teams in a draft.

  • Do the rankings update each time a player is drafted?
    No.

  • Why is a player still ranked high even though he had a season ending injury?
You may have turned on Manual Rankings, and updating the projections will no longer change the rankings of players automatically. To turn this off go to "Rankings" and tap "Value". Another possibility is you may need to download the most recent data.

  • How do I enter keepers?
We recommend using the Keepers section in the Settings where you can enter keepers. That allows you to specify if the keeper takes up a draft spot or not.

  • Can you mock draft?
Yes. We offer mock drafts, but not mock auctions. On an iPad, tap "Mock Draft" at the top of the screen. For iPhone, tap "Mock Draft" in the menu.

  • Can I add my own notes on players within the app?
Yes, tap on a player, and tap on "Notes" to add a note.

  • My league uses IDPs, how do I view these in the rankings?
Go to the settings of the Current Draft, then tap on Roster Settings and add the number of IDPs allowed in your league.

  • Why are none of the Quarterbacks' or Kickers' names showing up, just Team QB or Team K?
You accidentally turned on Team Positions. Go to the Roster Settings and use individual QB or K instead of Team QB or Team K.

  • My team uses Team QB, or Team K, how do I turn this on?
Go to the Roster Settings and use Team QB, or Team K instead of individual QB or K.

  • What do the abbreviations in the app mean?
    $ Val: Dollar Value,
AAV: Average Auction Value (based on data from one of our partners),
ADP: Average Draft Position (based on data from NFFC),
FPoints/FPt: Projected fantasy points based on the scoring settings,
    RNK/RK: Rank

  • Why is there no overall list that combines Offense, Kickers, and Defense?
We rank offense, kickers, and defense in easy-to-use separate lists. Each league is unique and varies greatly in regards to when kickers and defense are drafted. A fantasy team owner should know the tendencies of their league mates and should use that to determine the rounds in which to draft kickers and defense.

  • Does the app account for inflation?
Yes. After entering a pick, you can update the dollar value if the remaining players by click Update $, make sure Inflation is green, then click Tap Here to Update Dollar Values.

  • Why are the rankings in the app different than the rankings on the web site?
Occasionally, you may notice slight differences between the rankings in the app and on the RotoWire web site. This is because we use slightly different formulas between the two platforms. To ensure that the rankings are as consistent as possible, it's recommended that you update your data and double-check your scoring settings and projected points for various players to properly match those listed on the web site.

  • How do I view last year's stats on the cheat sheet?
Tap the area that states "Projections created preseason" to toggle between the projections for this year and last year's stats.

  • I don't want to have to specify a team each time a player gets drafted. Can I just remove players from the cheat sheet?
We offer a "Draft Just My Team" option in the settings. That allows you to simply mark a player as "My Team" or "Other Team". That should help speed things up especially if you get behind in a draft. Keep in mind, using that setting turns off the ability to use certain features like Projected Standings, Roster Composition, Draft Grid, etc.

  • I don't see a player on the cheat sheet. Can I add him?
First, double check to make sure you spelled the player's name correctly, but if he is still not there you can use the Add/Edit Unlisted Players feature by going to Settings, Add/Edit Unlisted Players, Create Unlisted Player and entering Name, Pro Team, and position.
