Sweden and Romania clash in their opening match of UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying at the Friends Arena on Saturday. Sweden will be looking to make their sixth consecutive appearance in the mega event, one they have been consistently participating in for years. However, their success has been limited, failing to clinch a spot in the knockout rounds in each of the last three tournaments, and they come in with just two wins in their last six matches, Therefore, manager Janne Andersson will have a lot of work to bring the best out of the available players to produce a positive result.
On the other hand, Romania are on a relatively decent run of late, winning three and drawing three in their last six in all competitions. If they can successfully qualifying for the 2020 tournament, it will be the first time they've reached back-to-back competitions in two decades.
In the tournament's previous edition, Romania qualified after finishing second in the group stage but was eliminated in the following round.
Both teams have only competed once before, with Romania coming out top with a 1-0 score line in March last year.
