Bayley Currey

27-Year-Old Driver
Niece Motorsports
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Currey only competed part-time (11 races) with this team last season, but they produced reasonably good results. Currey nabbed three Top-5 and four Top-10 finishes in those 11 starts. He'll get a full slate of 23 races in 2024. When we project these half-season stats out over a full year, the potential outcome is interesting. If Currey can maintain that level of performance over the full campaign, he could slot 11th-14th in the driver standings. Mike Hillman Jr. returns at crew chief and these two will look to see what they can accomplish over a full season. Currey has over 150 combined starts between the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series, so he's a very seasoned young driver. Read Past Outlooks
Returning to JD Motorsports
XFINITY Series
December 30, 2021
JD Motorsports with Gary Keller are proud to announce Currey as a full-time driver for 2022.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old prospect will return to the JD Motorsports' No. 4 Chevrolet in 2022. Currey has 116 combined starts of NASCAR experience and is continuing to grow as a driver. "I'm very excited and thankful to be back with JD Motorsports with Gary Keller in 2022," commented Currey. "Mr. Davis took a chance on me and gave me an opportunity late in the season last year. The relationship progressed and eventually turned into a full-time ride this year. Throughout the off-season we have been putting in a ton of work to get our fleet of cars ready to compete for 2022. Daytona can't get here soon enough!"

Currey has earned another shot at the No. 4 Chevrolet of JDM. His rookie season of last year netted one Top-10 and five Top-15 finishes. It all worked out to a respectable 20th-place finish in the final point standings. It wasn't overly impressive, but it was competitive racing that saw Currey finish on the lead lap more often than not and limit his DNF's to just five for the season. It was a good start for this young driver with this established multi-car team. Currey will look to keep on building his experience and skill in 2023 with the help of Wayne Carroll at crew chief. The two will look to build on what they started in Currey's rookie campaign last year. At 26-years-old, he's more mature than most young drivers with 100-career Xfinity Series starts, so growth should come.
Currey raced for a couple different teams in 2021, but still only managed 24 starts total. However, it was his most impactful campaign to-date. Currey would nab one Top-10 finish and four Top-20 finishes for career-best marks. He joined JD Motorsports for the final six starts of last season and that's where he'll stay for 2022. Currey will pilot the team's No. 4 Chevrolet for the full schedule in the upcoming season. The 25-year-old driver will pilot the team's flagship entry and look to make an impact on the driver standings. Landon Cassill primarily piloted this same car last season to pretty good effect, collecting four Top-15 and 14 Top-20 finishes. Currey is certainly capable of keeping this race team on its current trajectory.
Currey was the main driver for this team in 2020, although he did share the wheel with Kyle Weatherman, Mike Harmon and Gray Gaulding at times. Currey's 26 starts last season yielded three Top-15 and nine Top-20 finishes. The 24.5 average finish and marks were not terribly bad since this was his first nearly-full season of action in the Xfinity Series. Harmon will field this car once again in 2021 and plan to have Currey in the driver's seat for most if not all the season. This growing race team will expand to two cars in the upcoming campaign, so money and sponsorship are good. Currey will need to work on better consistency this season if the No. 74 team hopes to improve and challenge for more Top-15 finishes.
Made 11 starts last season with JPM. Bayley collected only three Top-25 finishes in those efforts. The team's 2019 plans have not been announced.
