The Marines released Jackson on Thursday, Yahoo Sports Japan reports.
ANALYSIS
After Jackson was removed from the roster a day earlier, the Marines opted to part ways with the right-hander entirely in a move that reportedly came at his request. The 32-year-old signed with the Marines in December in what was his second stint in the NPB, as he previously spent time with the Carp from 2016 through 2018. Over his seven appearances with the Marines this season, Jackson gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out 12 over seven innings and recording three holds and one save.
