Shoemaker agreed to a contract Friday with the Giants, Sports Hochi reports.
ANALYSIS
Shoemaker will head overseas for the first time in his career after spending parts of the last nine seasons in Major League Baseball. The 35-year-old right-hander struggled mightily in 2021 with the Minnesota Twins, posting an 8.06 ERA across 60.1 innings. Shoemaker should be able to deliver better results while moving down to a lower level of competition in 2022.
