Kohei Morihara

Loses roster spot
PTohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles
July 29, 2020
The Golden Eagles deactivated Morihara on Wednesday, Jim Allen of JBallAllen.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Morihara entered the season as one of the top candidates to close for the Golden Eagles, but he's struggled in most of his late-inning opportunities to date. Though he's picked up four saves along the way, Morihara has suffered two losses and has yielded 12 runs on 18 hits and four walks through 12 innings this season. He'll look to get things cleaned up with the Golden Eagles' farm team before potentially re-emerging on the roster later in the year. Alan Busenitz (0.68 ERA, eight holds and one save in 14 appearances) now looks like the top choice to handle the endgamer role.
