Candidate for UFC 249?
HeavyweightUFC
March 25, 2020
Ngannou is open to fighting at UFC 249 on April 18 after he told Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com that the UFC recently tested him for COVID-19.
ANALYSIS
Ngannou is one of many fighters effected by the recent postponement of three UFC events, as he was scheduled to headline UFC Columbus in a matchup against Jair Rozenstruik on March 28. While UFC President Dana White has brought forth a variety of options for rescheduled many of those fights, UFC 249 is one event he's been adamant will go on as scheduled on April 18. Per Steven Marrocco of MMAFighting.com, White even has a location pegged for the event, though he has yet to reveal it. Ngannou had previously been listed as a (-270) betting favorite for his prospective matchup against Rozenstruik, and he believes that the opponent wouldn't change while operating under the assumption that Rozenstruik would be tested for COVID-19 as well. White had previously mentioned that UFC 249 would feature a full card of preliminary fights as well, though this proposed heavyweight matchup would presumably land on the pay-per-view portion.

Fight postponed due to COVID-19
HeavyweightUFC
March 16, 2020
Ngannou's fight against Jairzinho Rozenstruick will be postponed due to the threat of COVID-19, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After not taking action with nearly every other sports league last week, UFC President Dana White finally made the decision to postpone the next three events to try to limit the spread of COVID-19. Ngannou was scheduled to take on Rozenstruick on March 28 at UFC Columbus, but that was later moved to the UFC Apex center in Las Vegas. Now this fight will be pushed back to a later date that has yet to be announced. Ngannou last fought back in June of 2019 when he won via TKO against Junior dos Santos.
UFC considering relocation
HeavyweightUFC
March 15, 2020
Ngannou's scheduled matchup against Jairzinho Rozenstruick will likely be moved for the second time, Ariel Helwani of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Ngannou and Rozenstruick were originally scheduled for UFC Columbus on March 28, but the event was later moved to the UFC Apex center in Las Vegas. The state of Nevada has since imposed similar restrictions to many states on this type of gathering in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, so it remains to be seen if the UFC can get this rescheduled to a new location. Saturday's UFC London has already been cancelled, with the UFC trying to find a new location stateside, while UFC Portland and UFC 249 also appear to be in jeopardy. Ngannou had been a (-270) favorite for the matchup as of Sunday afternoon.
To face Jair Rozenstruik

December 12, 2019
Ngannou is slated to fight Jairzinho Rozenstruick at UFC Fight Night on Mar. 28 in Columbus, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This figures to be an evenly matched fight, as both Ngannou and Rozenstruick have had their fair share of success while with UFC. Ngannou is coming off a victory over Junior dos Santos in June of 2019, winning via TKO (punches). He's won three straight UFC bouts and owns a 14-3 professional record.
Runs over JDS, title shot likely
HeavyweightUFC
June 29, 2019
Ngannou defeated Junior dos Santos via TKO (punches) at 1:11 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Minneapolis.
ANALYSIS
Ngannou is the scariest man on the UFC roster and it's not particularly close. He opened up against Dos Santos with a pair of hard leg kicks in the early going before eventually crumbling the former champion with a wild right hook while he was literally standing behind him. There isn't a fighter alive today who can generate the power Ngannou does on shots that barely graze the opposition. Francis called for the winner of August's UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between title holder Daniel Cormier and challenger Stipe Miocic and it would be shocking at this point if he's not next in line for his second opportunity at UFC gold. It's crazy to think the 32-year-old Ngannou has been a professional mixed martial artist for less than six years. He simply has a God-given gift to knock men out. While he awaits his chance at UFC gold, Ngannou will at least have an extra $50,000 to spend by way of a Performance of the Night bonus.
Dos Santos fight moved to Minneapolis
HeavyweightUFC
May 21, 2019
Ngannou will now take on Junior dos Santos in the main event of UFC Minneapolis on June 29, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This was a matchup supposed to go down as a featured bout on the International Fight Week card on July 6 in Las Vegas, but Minneapolis was left without a main event after the withdrawal of Tyron Woodley (hand). The pair of heavyweights will now bump their scheduled meeting up by a week, where Ngannou will take the cage in search of his third consecutive victory. He erased UFC legend Cain Velasquez within 30 seconds in their February matchup, and will enter as the younger fighter with height and reach advantages. While dos Santos is far more experienced, especially in terms of championship fights, that don't expect the veteran to be given much of an edge when the betting odds are released. The one potential area of concern for Ngannou is whether this becomes a five-round fight due to its main-event status. One of two career losses for "The Predator" was to Stipe Miocic in a fight that went all 25 minutes.
