Evloev fight targeted
A featherweight fight between Allen and Movsar Evloev is being targeted for UFC 297 expected to take place at Toronto in January, according to MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Currently, the UFC is working on an Allen-Evloev fight for the company's first pay-per-view of 2024, even though the location of said PPV has not been determined yet. If this fight comes to fruition, Allen will try to redeem himself after suffering a decision defeat to Max Holloway at UFC on ESPN 44.

Valiant effort in main event loss
Allen lost to Max Holloway via unanimous decision (46-49, 46-49, 47-48) at UFC on ESPN 44 on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
It's not the result Allen was hoping for, but he showed darn well against one of the best featherweights of all time. Arnold appeared to be one of the few 145-pounders with the ability to nearly match the pace of Holloway. His best round was certainly the second, but Allen also emptied the gas tank in the final frame, at least giving him a chance of pulling the upset. Most everyone that came before him was either too tired or too beat up to make sort of significant run at that stage of the bout. Allen is technical, has power, is deceptively athletic and incredibly durable, giving him an extremely bright future despite this setback. The defeat snaps Allen's 10-fight winning streak to begin this UFC run and is his first loss of any kind dating back to June 2014. He'll be back

Fight with Holloway on tap
Allen (19-1-0) is scheduled to face Max Holloway (23-7-0) in a featherweight bout as part of the UFC's Fight Night event on April 15, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen had been expected to be included on the card for UFC 286 in London on March 18, but his return to the Octagon will be pushed back another month while he manages a rib injury. The extra time should provide ample recovery for Allen while he puts his unblemished 10-0-0 UFC record on the line against Holloway, who is coming off a loss to reigning featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski last July. Aside from his three career losses to Volkanovski, Holloway has asserted himself as the second-best featherweight fighter in the world with a perfect 16-0-0 record against non-Volkanovski competitors from the 145-pound division.

Discloses ribs injury
Allen is dealing with a rib injury that will hold him out of a proposed co-main event spot at UFC 286, MMA Mania reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen is a rising star at featherweight with a perfect 10-0 record with the UFC, which includes a signature win in a main-even spot last October over Calvin Kattar, who he defeated via second-round TKO. The rumored opponent for Allen's March matchup was former champion and fan-favorite Max Holloway, so the injury will come at a major cost. Allen will likely look to regroup and return to training in a few weeks, with hopes of returning to the Octagon later in the spring or summer.

Wins first UFC main event
Allen defeated Calvin Kattar via TKO (knee injury) at 0:08 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A knee injury suffered by Kattar resulted in the fight being stopped when it was, but it's important to note that the injury happened in the closing seconds of Round 1, and Allen looked excellent prior to that. He appeared calm and composed on the feet and was certainly getting the better of the striking exchanges. It's anyone guess what the end result may have been if Kattar's knee held up, but it's quite clear Allen possesses the abilities to compete with the best the 145-pound division has to offer. The "Almighty" improves to a perfect 10-0 in the UFC. Keep an eye on Allen as the calendar pushes towards 2023.
