Signs with Cage Warriors

February 6, 2019
Watson signed a contract Wednesday with the Cage Warriors promotion, freelance MMA journalist Simon Head reports.
ANALYSIS
Watson previously signed with the UFC in July 2012, going 2-5-0 in his seven middleweight bouts before being released by the promotion in August 2015. He then took a three-year break before signing with BAMMA last summer, though he never fought in what was his second stint with the London-based promotion. Watson will stay across the pond to continue his career with Cage Warriors, this time returning as a welterweight fighter.

Tom Watson: Awful Effort Against Chris Camozzi Saturday In Nashville
WelterweightOther
August 8, 2015
Watson lost to Chris Camozzi via unanimous decision (27-29, 26-30, 27-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
The odd scores were the result of Watson being docked a point by referee John McCarthy after hitting Camozzi with multiple shots to the groin. Watson generally keeps himself in good shape, but he was exhausted by the time this one was over. The end result was him getting beaten up on the feet and spending an extended period of time on his back. Now 33-years old and 2-5 in his UFC career, Watson is nearing the end of the line. It wouldn't be a shock to see him be handed his walking papers.

Watson will take on Chris Camozzi in a middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night in Nashville on August 8.
ANALYSIS
Watson has won just two of his six fights in the UFC promotion, but the former BAMMA champion will look to get his first win in nearly a calendar year in the middleweight showdown. The 32-year-old is 8-0 in fights that end in knockout, but his last four fights have ended in a decision (three losses). He'll look to get back in the win column against Camozzi, who has lost his last five bouts.
