Gane will face Jair Rozenstruik in a heavyweight matchup at a UFC event scheduled for March 13, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Gane is coming off a victory over Junior dos Santos via TKO (elbow) at UFC 256 on Dec. 12 to keep his record undefeated as a professional. Rozenstruik will look to extend his winning streak to two after defeating dos Santos via TKO (punches) at UFC 252 on Aug. 15. Gane has an edge in both height and reach.

Takes out Junior Dos Santos
HeavyweightUFC
December 12, 2020
Gane defeated Junior Dos Santos via TKO (elbow) at 2:34 of Round 2 at UFC 256 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a fight that went largely as expected. In what was a kickboxing match, the younger, faster Gane picked Dos Santos apart. He may have absorbed a few more power shots than he would have liked, but Gane was in full control throughout the course of this fight and the result never appeared to be in doubt. It was a win/win situation for Gane, as he picks up an easy victory over a former UFC champion who is far more "name" than "game" at this point in the later stages of his career. Still just 30 years old and undefeated as a professional, Gane is on the verge of title-implicating fights at heavyweight as we head into 2021.
Slated to fight in December
HeavyweightUFC
October 28, 2020
Gane will take on Junior dos Santos in a heavyweight matchup at UFC 256 on Dec. 12, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gane has now had four straight bookings fall through, but he'll attempt to take on JDS to close out 2020. Gane hasn't fought since suffering a collapsed lung in March. His most recent fight was in December when he defeated Tanner Boser via unanimous decision at UFC Busan, bringing his professional record to 6-0. JDS most recently lost to Jair Rozenstruik via TKO (punches) at UFC 252 in August as he's now been knocked out in each of his last three fights amid durability concerns at age 36. Gane has advantages in both height and reach.
Saturday's fight with Delija off
HeavyweightUFC
October 14, 2020
Gane (6-0-0) is no longer scheduled to face Ante Delija (17-3-0) on Saturday at the UFC's event on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, LaSueur.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The heavyweight bout was reportedly cancelled due to Delija's contractual issues with the Professional Fighters League, the promotion he most recently competed with before making the jump to the UFC. Rather than attempting to find a short-notice replacement for Delija, the UFC will cancel the fight entirely in what amounts to another tough break for Gane. Dating back to April, the Frenchman has now had four straight bouts fall through.
New opponent for Oct. 17
HeavyweightUFC
September 28, 2020
Gane will now take on UFC newcomer Ante Delija in a heavyweight matchup at the event scheduled for Oct. 17 on Fight Island, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gane was originally set for a twice-rescheduled matchup against Shamil Abdurakhimov, but Abdurakhimov was forced to pull out of the fight for undisclosed reasons. He'll now take on a 30-year-old Croatian with a 17-3-0 record who had once fought in the PFL, but most recently has competed under the KSW banner. Delija is an inch taller, but Gane has a three-inch reach advantage. It's definitely a tough ask for a newcomer to take on an undefeated prospect like Gane, even if Delija has significantly more pro fights on his resume.
Gets new fight date
HeavyweightUFC
August 30, 2020
Gane will now face Shamil Abdurakhimov in a heavyweight matchup at a UFC event scheduled for Oct. 17, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
The two fighters were initially slated to face off in April, but the matchup has been rescheduled several times since then. Gane carries an undefeated record as a professional fighter and should enter the fight as a betting favorite as he also carries advantages over Abdurakhimov in height and reach.
