Finally scheduled for fight
Davis is scheduled to compete against Natan Levy in a lightweight fight at UFC Fight Night 239 in Las Vegas on March 16, according to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca.
ANALYSIS
This is Davis' first fight scheduled since 2024. He sat out all of 2023, just like Levy did, but for various reasons. Davis did not have any fights scheduled that year, while Levy was scheduled for three but saw all of the bouts canceled. Both will look to continue their winning ways from 2022 though.

Easy win following long layoff
Davis defeated Slava Borshchev via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Davis looks the part of a quality lightweight and this bout was no exception. Fighting for the first time since January 2021, Davis dominated Borshchev for 15 minutes. He spent virtually the entire bout leaning on his wrestling. He connected on 9-of-11 takedowns, good for 8:02 worth of control time. Round 1 could have easily been a 10-8 in Davis' favor and it's difficult to see what the one judge which scored a frame for his opponent was watching. Davis' UFC run began with a submission loss to Gilbert Burns in April 2019. He's fought just three times in roughly three and a half years since, so he's going to have to pick up the activity level moving forward if he wants to climb the rankings.

New opponent named
Davis will take on Slava Borshchev at UFC Vegas 61 on Oct. 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The UFC was able to work fast to find a replacement fighter for Davis after Uros Medic pulled out on Tuesday. Borshchev has fought twice in 2022 with the UFC, beating Dakota Bush in January and falling to Marc Diakiese in March.

Getting new opponent for Oct. 1
Davis, who had been scheduled to face Uros Medic in a lightweight bout set for Oct. 1 at the UFC's event in Las Vegas, announced Tuesday via his personal Instagram account that he'll have a new opponent for the event due to Medic's withdrawal.
ANALYSIS
Davis will be making his return to the Octagon for the first time since Jan. 20, 2021, when he won in an unanimous decision over Mason Jones. The 29-year-old from New York owns a 9-2-0 career MMA record.

Won't fight at UFC London
Davis will no longer take on Jai Herbert at UFC London on March 19, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Davis cited income tax rules from fighting overseas in his decision to withdraw from the matchup but said that he'd be open to taking on Herbert in a U.S. matchup at some point. It's not yet clear when Davis will return to the Octagon.
