Espinosa only attempted 25 total significant strikes in his loss to Tim Elliott on Saturday, and 13 of those came in the first round. While Elliott largely controlled this fight on the mat, a possible hand injury at least offers an explanation for the inactivity. Espinosa entered this fight with a 90 percent takedown defense, which is shocking considering how easily and dominantly Elliott got him to the ground and kept him there. Some of it was Espinosa's own doing due to the fact he went for reckless strikes and left Elliott with an opening as wide as the Atlantic Ocean to complete his attempts. Espinosa's UFC run may very well be bordering on extinction. Fight pushed back
Espinosa's upcoming fight against Tim Elliott will be pushed back to March 6 after he tested positive for COVID-19, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
