Dominated once again
HeavyweightPFL
May 8, 2021
Greene lost to Marcos Rogerio de Lima via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 27-30) at UFC on ESPN 24 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
In a fight in which he likely had to have to save his job, Greene was dominated from bell to bell. He had zero answers for the grappling game of Rogerio de Lima, and the end result was Greene being controlled for 14:06 of the 15-minute bout. Greene, who has lost five of his past six fights dating back to October 2019, has proven to be extremely limited offensively during his time with the company. He doesn't have anywhere near the power of your typical heavyweight, and that severely limits Greene's abilities despite the fact he stands 6-foot-7.
Returning in May
HeavyweightPFL
February 24, 2021
Greene is scheduled to fight Marcos Rogerio de Lima in a heavyweight match at the UFC's event on May 8, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Greene is coming off a rough loss to Greg Hardy last October, and he's lost three of his last four fights, so he'll target his upcoming matchup as a chance to get right. The 6-foot-1 Rogerio De Lima has alternated wins and losses in each of his fights going all the way back to 2014.
Smashed by Greg Hardy
HeavyweightPFL
October 31, 2020
Greene lost to Greg Hardy via TKO (punches) at 1:12 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
To say Greene could get nothing going in this fight would be an understatement. He spent the vast majority of the bout serving as a punching bag for Hardy. Greene was also plenty upset with the stoppage of referee Herb Dean, but it appeared to be plenty justified. Greene has lost three of his past four fights since winning his first three with the company. "The Crochet Boss" may be 6-foot-7, but he doesn't fight like a big guy. It's going to be a challenge for Greene to generate enough offense to consistently win fights at the highest level.
Squaring off versus Greg Hardy
HeavyweightPFL
August 14, 2020
Greene will fight Greg Hardy at the UFC event on Oct. 31, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Greene slipped b is opponent via a third-round submission in June and will aim to use that momentum to pick up a second straight victory. Hardy is coming off of a win that snapped a two-match losing streak as well and will cede two inches of height to his opponent despite an identical reach.
