Struggles in professional MMA debut
Agazarm lost to Jesse Roberts via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at Bellator 214 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Agazarm signed with Bellator after an extensive grappling career. The promotion seemed interested in setting up a bout with his BJJ rival Dillon Danis. However, this debut performance did not do very much to generate excitement. Agazarm really struggled in the striking game, and he could not consistently score takedowns. His best offense came at the very end of the first round. He took the back standing and drove his opponent to the ground. He did solid work from the back with striking, but he ran out of time. The rest of the fight pretty much belonged to Roberts. He was able to sprawl and land counters. He probably could have turned up the pace, but in the end he took the decision.
