Marcelo Golm

Brazil

Part of recent roster cuts
HeavyweightBellator
May 26, 2019
Golm has been released by the UFC, Raphael Marinho of Combate reports.
ANALYSIS
The move is hardly surprising after three consecutive losses, though at 26 years old, Golm has enough years of his athletic prime ahead that he could conceivably develop the skills needed to make an eventual comeback. The heavyweight fighter will have to work those out under the banner of another promotion, however.

Struggles yet again
HeavyweightBellator
April 20, 2019
Golm lost to Sergey Pavlovich via TKO (punches) at 1:06 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Saint Petersburg.
ANALYSIS
Golm's UFC run started off with a quick submission victory, but it has all been downhill from there. He has now lost three-straight fights in the UFC. He came out looking to counter in this fight, but Pavlovich changed it up and started throwing with combinations. From there it was only a matter of time until he tasted the canvass. In the end, Golm lasted only a little more than a minute and falls to 1-3 in the UFC and 6-3 overall.
Drops decision at UFC Moncton
HeavyweightBellator
October 27, 2018
Golm lost to Arjan Bhullar via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Moncton, New Brunswick.
ANALYSIS
Golm struggled to deal with the forward pressure of Bhullar in this fight. He was able to land some solid kicks in the first two rounds, but Bhullar continually came forward and pushed the pace. In the final round, Bhullar was able to finally close the distance and land a takedown. Golm apparently suffered a foot injury in the fight, and it hindered his performance.

ANALYSIS

Now he'll be making his third fight with UFC, taking on Arjan Bhullar, who will be doing the same. Like Golm, Bhullar is 1-1 since joining promotion last September.
Falls in the UFC for the first time against Tim Johnson
HeavyweightBellator
February 3, 2018
Golm lost to Tim Johnson via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Belem, Brazil
ANALYSIS
Golm looked impressive in his first UFC fight against Christian Colombo. However, he struggled to stay out of the clinch in this fight. Johnson was able to push forward at will and hold this fight in the clinch. Golm did do some solid work at distance, but those opportunities were scarce in this fight. He will need to improve his grappling in order to compete at this level. He falls to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in the UFC.
Pegged to take on Tim Johnson
HeavyweightBellator
January 5, 2018
Golm was added to UFC Belem to take on Tim Johnson in Brazil on Feb. 3, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Golm will be making his second appearance in the UFC after winning his debut against Christian Colombo in October. The heavyweight was able to claim a victory via submission (rear-naked choke) in a fight that also occurred in Brazil, which brought his career record to a perfect 6-0. On the other side, Johnson was originally supposed to face Luis Henrique, but Henrique had to withdraw due to a biceps injury. Johnson is coming off a loss to Junior Albini in July, and is 3-3 during his two-year career in the promotion.
