Will return to face Woodson
FeatherweightUFC
March 22, 2024
Caceres (forearm) will face Sean Woodson in a featherweight event at UFC STL on May 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Caceres left his forearm injury behind and is completely recovered, which is why he'll take on Woodson in what'll be his first fight since Aug. 27. Caceres might be a veteran who's on the wrong side of his 30s, but he still owns a 7-2 record over his last nine fights.

Suffers broken forearm
FeatherweightUFC
August 27, 2023
Caceres suffered a broken forearm in the first round of Saturday's loss to Giga Chikadze at UFC Singapore, MMA reporter Ariel Helwani reports.
ANALYSIS
The injury was sustained when Caceres blocked a kick early in the fight, and given the fight ended up going the distance, it shows the incredible heart and toughness brought to the table here. It's also impressive that Caceres was able to land 62 significant strikes -- just three short of Chikadze's mark -- with essentially the full use of only one arm. It's unclear how long the issue will sideline Caceres, now 35 years old, who had built up a 7-1 record in his past eight fights leading up to Saturday's defeat.
Falls via decision in Singapore
FeatherweightUFC
August 26, 2023
Caceres lost to Giga Chikadze via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
It's a bit surprising none of the three judges awarded Caceres the opening round, but it wouldn't have made a difference. "Bruce Leeroy" actually showed pretty well in what was a 15-minute kickboxing match against a quality opponent. The striking numbers in terms of volume were shockingly even, but Chikadze landed the more impactful blows, although not by much. Caceres entered with a 7-1 record in his past eight fights, although the virtually all those wins came against lesser competition. It was nice to see him hang tough and remain competitive against Giga here despite the setback.

July 27, 2023
Caceres will fight Giga Chikadze in a featherweight bout at UFC Singapore on Aug. 26, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Caceres, No. 15 in the UFC's featherweight rankings, has an opportunity to significantly boost his placement. Chikadze is ranked eighth and will be fighting off an 18-month hiatus. Both fighters have relatively similar momentum, with a 7-1 record across their last eight fights.
Improves to 7-1 in past eight
FeatherweightUFC
June 3, 2023
Caceres defeated Daniel Pineda via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC on ESPN 46 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The fight was up for grabs seemingly the entire way, and although it was Caceres that did far more damage throughout the course of the bout, Pineda threatened his opponent until the final bell. Alex mixed up his attacks exceptionally well. He scrambled and did damage on the mat, while his most effective weapon was kicks to the body, the most damaging of which occurred in the opening seconds of a tied fight at the start of Round 3 and left Pineda hampered the rest of the way. "Bruce Leeroy" will be 35 years of age in mid-June and has well over 30 professional fights under his belt. He's in the midst of his best UFC run to thus far, winning seven of eight dating back to July 2019, but most of those victories have come against lower-end competition. It will be interesting to see what the company has in mind for Caceres his next time out. In the meantime, he'll take home a $50,000 bonus after this matchup was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

FeatherweightUFC
April 20, 2023
Caceres (undisclosed) will fight Daniel Pineda in a featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night 225 on June 3, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Caceres will look to return relatively quickly after an undisclosed injury prevented him from fighting Nate Landwehr at UFC on ESPN 43. For the first time since 2021, Caceres will fight someone who is both older and has more MMA mileage. This is Pineda's second UFC stint, during which he has gone 2-1-1 across its four fights so far.
