Victim of horrific judges decision
Pudilova lost to Joselyne Edwards via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN 44 on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Absolutely awful. It took exactly one fight for our first horrific decision of the evening. Pudilova appeared to easily win this fight, landing a takedown in each of the first two rounds in addition to securing more than three minutes of control time in each frame. Edwards improved enough in Round 3 to steal the final stanza, but there's no way she deserved the win. The only good news for Pudilova is that she walks away with 20 percent of Edwards' purse after the latter missed weight by half a pound on Friday morning. The 28-year-old falls to 1-1 in the UFC.

Facing heavy opponent
Pudilova agreed to fight Joselyne Edwards as scheduled at UFC Kansas City on Saturday after Edwards weighed in over the bantamweight limit, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not a big miss from Edwards as she ended up just a half-pound over at 136.5 pounds, but she'll still have to forfeit 20 percent of her purse. Pudilova defeated Wu Yanan in August after being out of the UFC for more than two years following a string of four straight losses from 2018 to 2020.

Will face Edwards in April

Finishes Wu Yanan at UFC 278
Pudilova defeated Wu Yanan via TKO (elbows) at 4:04 of Round 2 at UFC 278 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Pudilova was let go by the UFC in 2020 following a four-fight losing streak, but she accumulated a 5-1 record under the banner of Oktagon to earn another shot at the age of 28. Her grappling appears to have improved significantly, as she accumulated 3:19 of control time in Round 1 (though didn't do much damage in the position. Round 2 was a different story, as she recorded her second takedown with a head-and-arm toss. After several scrambles for position, she took the back of Yanan, and after racking up several big elbows to the side of the head, referee Herb Dean was forced to stop the proceedings. While some criticized the UFC for putting this matchup on the pay-per-view portion of the card, Pudilova capitalized on the opportunity and might have a solid case for a ranked opponent her next time out.
