BantamweightBellator
February 13, 2019
Kavanagh (5-2-0) withdrew Wednesday from her Feb. 23 fight versus Olga Rubin (5-0-0) at Bellator 217 in Dublin due to an unspecified injury, Peter Carroll of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kavanagh will miss out on a chance to fight on her home turf after apparently getting hurt in her training sessions leading up to the bout. Iony Razafiarison (6-1-0), who defeated Kavanagh at Bellator 173 in Belfast, has been tapped to step in as the latter's replacement in Dublin.

Scores 34-second stoppage at Bellator 187
BantamweightBellator
November 10, 2017
Kavanagh defeated Maria Casanova via TKO (punches) at 0:34 of Round 1 at Bellator 187 on Friday in Dublin, Ireland.
ANALYSIS
Kavanagh got back on track with a first-round knockout. She came out looking to strike and dropped Casanova with one of her first landed strikes. Kavanagh followed her opponent to the ground and took the mount position. From there, it was only a matter of time until the referee stopped the fight. Kavanagh has an interesting career in Bellator. This win improves her record in the promotion to 2-2. In those four fights, she has won both of her fights in her native Ireland but dropped her other two bouts. Prior to this bout, she had dropped back-to-back fights against Iony Razafiarison and Arlene Blencowe. Casanova came into this fight with a 3-5-1 professional record, so Kavanagh was a pretty heavy favorite.
Drops close decision at Bellator 182

Kavanagh lost to Arlene Blencowe via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 28-29) at Bellator 182 on Friday in Verona, N.Y.
ANALYSIS
Kavanagh spent most of this fight walking down her opponent and throwing boxing combinations. She was not overly accurate, but she landed her fair share of shots. Blencowe waited for the counters. She landed her fair share of hard shots as well, but Kavanagh had the edge in terms of volume. This was a very competitive fight, and both fighters should get at least one more fight for the promotion. Kavanagh moved to 1-2 in Bellator and 4-2 overall with the loss.
Gets smothered in loss to Iony Razafiarison on Friday
BantamweightBellator
February 24, 2017
Kavanagh lost to Iony Razafiarison via unanimous decision (27-30, 26-30, 25-30) at Bellator 173 on Friday in Belfast.
ANALYSIS
Kavanagh was able to drop Razafiarison with a big shot in Round 1, but was unable to stop the 32-year-old's takedowns throughout the fight. What's worse, she didn't seem to know how to create space and get back to her feet, as her defense consisted of stalling in half guard and waiting for referee Dan Miragliotta to stand the fighters up. Kavanagh came into the contest having won four fights in a row, but will need to work on her wrestling defense in order to advance much further. Her professional MMA record falls to 4-1 as a result of the loss.

Kavanagh defeated Elina Kallionidou via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-25, 30-26) at Bellator 169 on Friday in Dublin.
ANALYSIS
This fight was a mismatch. Kavanagh nearly finished the fight with two big flurries in the first round. After that, Kallionidou did not really want to engage. At distance, she back pedaled and avoided action. In clinch positions, she mostly wanted to hold and avoid punishment. Kavanagh continued to move forward and land good punches, but she was never able to land the big shots needed to finish the fight. The Irish fighter was impressive. However, she is already 30 years old and yet a relative novice in the sport. Plus, Bellator has not really promoted the women's bantamweight division at this point. It will be interesting to see if the promotion uses her again.
