Kodie Curran

Curran joined the Ducks as a free agent after spending the last four seasons in Europe. It's certainly an unusual career path, but Curran had 86 points in 97 contests with Rogle of the Swedish league over the last two years. The left-sided defenseman will still face an uphill battle for playing time, as he'll compete with Christian Djoos for a third-pairing role this year. Curran is, however, on a one-way contract, so there's a decent chance he'll spend most of the season in the NHL. At 30 years old, fantasy managers shouldn't expect a huge burst of offense from Curran -- anything more than 15 points would be surprising. He'll almost certainly be left on the board on draft day.
