Janne Kuokkanen

Kuokkanen has showcased decent scoring ability at the AHL level with 126 points in 164 games (.77 points per game), but those skills haven't translated to the NHL, where he's yet to score a point in 12 games. The 22-year-old Finn will compete for a bottom-six role with the Devils this season, but Kuokkanen hasn't shown enough promise at the highest level to warrant much, if any, fantasy consideration.

Kuokkanen has failed to register a point in 11 career NHL appearances, but he was in the midst of a strong 2018-19 campaign with AHL Charlotte (38 points in 48 games) when an undisclosed injury prematurely ended his season. Assuming the 21-year-old Finn is back to full health, he'll compete for a roster spot with the Hurricanes in camp. Given his lack of results at the NHL level thus far, Kuokkanen is unlikely to be an impact player in the short-term even if he sticks with the big club.

Kuokkanen raised some eyebrows last season after making the Hurricanes roster out of training camp. However, after just three games, the 20-year-old Finn was sent down to AHL Charlotte where he finished the regular season ranked eighth in team scoring with 40 points (11 goals, 29 assists), along with three goals in the Calder Cup playoffs. Kuokkanen is a responsible, two-way winger with good puck skills and on-ice vision, making him a good candidate to once again land himself a roster spot this season. Whether he can stick this time around remains to be seen, but it's likely just a matter of time before he's in the NHL on a full-time basis.
