FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Wednesday is the last day before March Madness kicks off in earnest, so get in some hockey while you can. There are four NHL games on the slate, and here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Jacob Markstrom, VAN vs. OTT ($8,300): Over his last 18 games, Markstrom has a 2.45 GAA and .927 save percentage. He only has a 7-7-4 record in that time, but it should be easier for him to get a win over the lowly Senators, especially at home. Ottawa may be middle-of-the-pack in scoring, but bear in mind a lot of that came before Matt Duchene, Mark Stone, and Ryan Dzingel were all traded.

CENTER

Ryan Getzlaf, ANA vs. WPG ($6,100):  It's been a trying season for Getzlaf and the Ducks, but he's found some luck recently. Over his last five games he's tallied seven points. Since the All-Star break, the Jets have a 3.33 team GAA.

Bo Horvat, Van vs. OTT ($5,700): Let's stick with the Canucks, because there is even more to like about this matchup from the offensive perspective. The Senators have a 4.31 road GAA, which is highest in the NHL by a wide margin. Horvat, meanwhile, has six points in his last five games, giving him 54 points on the season.

WING

Ondrej Palat, TAM at WAS ($4,900): Palat has had a down year, but he still gets to skate on Tampa's top line with Steven Stamkos. Plus, he has an 8.8 shooting percentage, a career low by a notable margin, so there may be some more luck coming his way. On that front, he has a point in three of his last four games. Meanwhile, the Capitals are playing their second game in as many nights.

Andreas Johnsson, TOR at BUF ($4,700): Johnsson has been under the radar on a stacked Maple Leafs team, but the rookie has been impressive. He's notched 20 goals to go with 20 assists, and he gets to play on Auston Matthews' wing. As for the Sabres, they have a 3.73 GAA since the All-Star break, which is highest in the NHL.

Conor Sheary, BUF vs. TOR ($4,600): Sheary has started 70.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, a hefty total, and second most on the Sabres. That hasn't always yielded production, but he does have eight points in his last 12 contests. The Maple Leafs are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, and they will likely be starting Garret Sparks. That bodes well, as Sparks has a 3.24 GAA and .902 save percentage.

DEFENSE

Alexander Edler, VAN vs. OTT ($4,900): Since returning from injury, Edler has five points and 21 shots on net in nine games. He's also blocked a whopping 142 shots in 47 contests. The Senators, as previously noted, have a 4.31 GAA in away games. On top of that, they've given up 36.0 shots on net per contest in those outings as well.

Rasmus Dahlin, BUF vs. TOR ($4,100): Dahlin had a bit of a rough patch, but he did pick up an assist in his last game. That gives him 38 points on the season, including 16 with the extra man. The Maple Leafs have a 3.30 GAA since the All-Star break, and as I mentioned earlier they are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back as well.
