FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

We're halfway through January as we find ourselves with a busy Tuesday in the NHL. There are 10 games on the slate, which means you have a lot of players to choose from for your daily fantasy lineup. Here are some recommendations…

GOALIE

Jimmy Howard, DET vs. ANA ($7,500): Howard has scuffled a bit recently, but he still has a .916 save percentage. Plus, the Ducks have scuffled even more, as they've only managed 2.37 goals and 28.0 shots on net per game. Worried about the fact the Red Wings are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games? Well the Ducks have lost 11 in a row, so actually this is looking pretty good for Howard.

CENTER

Mathew Barzal, NYI vs. STL ($6,900): Barzal has proven that his Calder-winner performance last season was no fluke, as he has 42 points in 44 games. That includes a whopping 17 points with the extra man. The Blues will be on the road for the second game of a back-to-back in this one. They have a 3.09 GAA on the whole, and an away game on the second leg of a back-to-back is not idea for any team's goal prevention.

Pierre-Luc Dubois, CLM vs. NJD ($6,100): Speaking of centers having excellent sophomore seasons, Dubois has 40 points in 45 games. That includes a point in each of his last three contests. The Devils are also on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, and they will be starting Keith Kinkaid. Kinkaid, for his part, has a 3.07 GAA and .899 save percentage.

WING

Zach Parise, MIN vs. LOS ($7,000): Parise lost last season to injury, but the veteran forward is looking good this year. He has 40 points in 43 games, including 11 in his last nine contests. Parise has also notched nine points with the extra man. That's the primary thing worth noting here, as the Kings have the league's worst penalty kill.

Mike Hoffman, FLA at MON ($6,400): Hoffman has started 59.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among Florida's regulars. He's made the most of that, as he's tallied 21 goals on 142 shots through 44 games. You may be shocked to hear this, but the Canadiens are on the second leg of a back-to-back. Even though they are at home, they will probably be starting Antti Niemi, and he has a 3.84 GAA and .886 save percentage.

Anthony Mantha, DET vs. ANA ($4,700): Mantha has played well since returning from a lengthy injury absence. Over five games he has three points and 13 shots on net. He should be able to keep putting pucks on goal in this one. The Ducks have allowed 35.1. shots on goal per game on the road, with a 3.00 GAA to boot.

DEFENSE

John Klingberg, DAL vs. TAM ($6,300): The Lightning are a great team, with a strong goalie in Andrei Vasilevskiy, but they've actually struggled on the road defensively. Tampa has a 3.22 GAA on the road. Of course, Klingberg is good enough to excel in any matchup. Since returning from injury, he has nine points in 12 games.

Jeff Petry, MON vs. FLA ($5,100): Even though the Canadiens are on the second night of a back-to-back, Petry is still worth putting in your lineup. For starters, he's having a fine season, as he has 10 goals and 23 assists through 47 games. Just as importantly, the Panthers have been bad on the road, as they have a 3.84 GAA in away contests.
