FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

For a couple weeks now, we've been dealing with holiday madness. Finally, that's over, and things are back to normal. There are six games on the NHL slate Wednesday, and here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Mikko Koskinen, EDM at ARI ($7,900): Koskinen has struggled a bit recently, but he still has a 2.60 GAA and .916 save percentage. This could be a good matchup for him to turn it around in. The Coyotes have only scored 2.51 goals per game, fourth worst in the NHL.

CENTER

Matt Duchene, OTT vs. VAN ($6,500): The Senators have taken a dive offensively, but Duchene hasn't been part of that. He has four points in his last five games since returning from injury, giving him 38 points in 34 contests. As for the Canucks, they have a 3.26 GAA on the road, bottom 10 in the league.

Bo Horvat, VAN at OTT ($5,700): Don't let the rise of Elias Pettersson take away from the season Horvat is having. The 23-year-old has 17 goals on 117 shots, 18 assists, and 10 power-play points. Now he gets to face a Senators team that has a woeful 3.98 GAA and has allowed a whopping 37.4 shots on net per contest.

WING

Elias Lindholm, CGY at DET ($5,900): Lindholm is skating on a line with Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan, which certainly has paid off for him big time. He already has a career-high 18 goals through only 40 games, and his 44 points is one off his personal best. Detroit has a 3.29 GAA, bottom 10 in the NHL, and it has also given up 34.1 shots on goal per game.

Patric Hornqvist, PIT at NYR ($5,400): It took Hornqvist a little while to get going after returning from injury, but he has three points in his last three games, two of which have come on the power play. The Swede has long been an avid collector of shots on goal as well, and this year has been no different. He has 90 shots through 30 games. The Rangers have allowed 33.7 shots on net per contest, so Hornqvist should be able to get some pucks on goal.

Sven Baertschi, VAN at OTT ($4,100): Baertschi has finally returned from his concussion issues to rejoin the Canucks. Though he's seem limited action, he's also averaged 9.1 fantasy points per game. It certainly should help him get back in the swing of things going up against the Senators. After all, they have a 3.98 GAA.

DEFENSE

John Klingberg, DAL vs. NJD ($5,800): Klingberg doesn't have a goal since returning from injury, but he's notched 13 shots on net through six games. Plus, this is a guy who had 59 assists and 204 shots on goal last season, so we know he has offensive skills. What the Devils have, on the other hand, is a 3.29 GAA as a team.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, ARI vs. EDM ($4,800): After a slow start, Ekman-Larsson has picked it up offensively, as he had nine points in December. He also has 11 points on the power play, which bodes well in this matchup. The Oilers have the 26th-ranked penalty kill, so Ekman-Larsson could be able to take advantage of an opportunity with the extra man.
