Top-25 for second straight week
June 24, 2019
Prugh finished solo 20th place at the Travelers Championship after rounds of 68-68-68-69.
ANALYSIS
Prugh had a solid all around week, ranking T4 in GIR's, 16th in scrambling, and 19th in SG: Off-the-tee. He has now finished top-25 in back-to-back weeks. Prugh started the season missing quite a few cuts, but has seemed to settle in the last month or so. He will be teeing it up next week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

2011
Prugh averaged nearly 23 starts per season on the PGA Tour in five campaigns ranging from 2010 to 2016, but he posted just one top-three in 113 career events. At the Web.com Tour level in 2018, the 34-year-old rattled off five top-10s and 11 top-25s to finish 18th on the regular season money list. Despite reaching his mid-30s, Prugh averaged nearly 315 yards off the tee and ranked top-10 in both birdie average and GIR percentage.
After only four made cuts in 16 PGA Tour starts, resulting in 206th in the point standings, Prugh played his best golf of the season in the Web.com Tour finals to come back for a fourth go-round on the PGA Tour. Being an economics major at the University of Washington, Prugh should know things don’t look much brighter for him monetarily this time.
Prugh missed the cut in almost half his 20 Web.com starts last season and did not win in 2013, so how did he crack the top-25 on the money list? Consistent play on the weekend. Five top-10s, two of which were top-3 finishes add up to a decent number.
Prugh had a solid rookie campaign that included four top-10s and a runner-up finish at the Frys.com Open. He came out of the gate on fire last season, capturing three top-10s in his first four events, but his play fell after that stretch. In fact, from March through September, he was virtually non-existent. Fortunately for Prugh, he found his early season magic late in the year when he grabbed that runner-up finish. It's too early to tell if Prugh's mid-season swoon was a fluke; there's simply not enough to go on. That said, it's probably wise to pass on him this season. Prugh was pretty solid in three of the stats categories, with only driving accuracy as a problem.
