2023 Fantasy Outlook
Washington took Davis 19th overall in the 2021 Draft after he ran a 4.47 40 at the Kentucky Pro Day at 234 pounds (he also had a 132-inch broad jump and 42-inch vertical). He took on a 59 percent snap share as a rookie and went up to 85 percent last season, mostly playing alongside Cole Holcomb, who now is with the Steelers after averaging 9.2 tackles per game his final two years in Washington. Davis averaged 7.9 tackles after Holcomb's season-ending injury Week 7 of 2022, and further progress could be coming this year as the 24-year-old continues to handle the green dot and an every-down role. Not getting Year 5 option
The Commanders are declining the fifth-year option on Davis' (shoulder) rookie contract, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Washington took Davis with the 19th pick in the 2021 Draft, and while he's started 36 of 45 games through three seasons, his elite athleticism (4.47 40, 42-inch vertical) hasn't translated to elite performance. The 25-year-old likely will be a starter again in 2024 under new coach Dan Quinn, but it won't come as any surprise if this ends up being Davis' final year in Washington. He had season-ending shoulder surgery in December, potentially impacting his participation in spring practices.

Headed to Vegas?
Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports has Davis going 17th overall to the Raiders in his latest mock draft.
ANALYSIS
Davis was a regular starter for just one season at Kentucky, but it was a thoroughly dominant campaign that he then backed up with an even more impressive pro-day workout. After notching 102 tackles and three interceptions in 10 games this past season, Davis ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds, displaying wide-receiver speed in the body of a 234-pound linebacker. He now has a shot to be drafted in the first round, and the Raiders once again could use help at every level of their woebegone defense.

2021
Davis took his lumps as a rookie, coming in as a first-round pick after one of the best-ever combine workouts by a linebacker (4.47 40, 42-inch vertical, 132-inch broad jump). He started eight of 16 games and averaged 4.8 tackles per contest, with a 56.4 percent snap share for the year. Not bad, but not what you want from a first-round pick. Davis, of course, has the tools to be a standout IDP if he secures a three-down role and continues to improve.
