England vs. West Indies: ICC World Cup 19th Match Preview

England and West Indies are ready to face off in Match 19 at the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup in Southampton on Friday. The game is an important one for both teams as only one point separate them after having played three matches each, therefore a win will help either side in strengthening their position on the league table. 

England are coming on the back of an impressive win against Bangladesh therefore they will be high on confidence. In the batting department, the team will be relying on in-form openers Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, captain Eoin Morgan, veteran right-hander Joe Root and wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler to score bulk of the runs, whereas on the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes and leg-spinner Adil Rashid to produce timely breakthroughs. 

On the other hand, West Indies previous match against South Africa was washed out, therefore the Caribbean giants will come in the match relatively fresh. In the batting department, the team will be relying on the likes of veteran opener Chris Gayle, young Shimron Hetmyer, wicketkeeper-batsman Shai Hope and explosive all-rounder Andre Russell to score bulk of the runs, whereas on the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of captain Jason Holder, Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas to produce timely breakthroughs.

Jos Buttler is being termed as one of the best wicketkeeper-batsman in white-ball cricket in the current era. The 28-year-old has represented England in 134 ODIs, where he has scored 3,716 runs at an impressive average of 42.22 and with a strike-rate of 120.29, which included nine centuries and 19 fifties. 

All-rounder: Andre Russell (9.5 Cr)

Andre Russell is one of the most hard-hitting all-rounder in the sport today. The 31-year-old has represented West Indies in 54 ODIs, where he has scored 1,013 runs and also has 69 wickets to his name. In the ongoing competition, Russell has just scored 15 runs and has also claimed four wickets.

Bowler: Sheldon Cottrell (8.5 Cr) 

Sheldon Cottrell is becoming a permanent member of the West Indies team in white-ball cricket. The left-arm pacer is having a more than decent tournament with the ball in hand as he has six wickets to his name in just two full innings at an impressive strike-rate of 20.4.
