Maryland coach Mike Locksley said Monday that LeGendre is healthy again after suffering a dislocated shoulder Nov. 23 against Nebraska, Ahmed Ghafir of reports.
Locksley said he had hoped to get a longer look at LeGendre during the final two games of the season, but the injury he suffered in the first half of the 54-7 loss to Nebraska kept him sidelined for the finale against Michigan State the following week. LeGendre missed out on some important reps this spring while the coronavirus pandemic resulted in Maryland cancelling workouts, but the rising redshirt sophomore should nonetheless be well positioned to open the upcoming campaign as the top backup quarterback behind Josh Jackson. LeGendre's competition for the No. 2 role got thinned out during the offseason, when Tyrrell Pigrome and Max Bortenschlager entered the transfer portal and Tyler DeSue medically retired.
