Hayek announced Jan. 25 via his personal Twitter account that he entered the NCAA's transfer portal with the intention of leaving Rutgers.
ANALYSIS
Hayek will look to spend his final two years of eligibility at another school and could have a good case for receiving a waiver from the NCAA that would allow him to compete immediately due to Rutgers' decision to fire head coach Chris Ash in September. The wideout recorded 11 catches for 79 yards over three campaigns with Rutgers, with one of those seasons being a redshirt year.
