No longer with Western Michigan
A Western Michigan spokesperson confirmed Monday that Walker is no longer with the program, Nick Buckley of the Battle Creek Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
After earning 2017 Scout Team Player of the Year honors, Walker was expected to challenge for a spot in the Broncos' backfield rotation in 2018. That never really materialized, however, as Walker carried nine times for 59 yards and a touchdown in a blowout win over FCS Delaware State in September but never appeared in any other contests. Walker has three seasons of eligibility remaining and could look to continue his career in the junior-college or FCS ranks so as to avoid sitting out a year due to NCAA transfer rules.
