Johnson was part of the RedHawks' backfield rotation to begin the season, playing 39 snaps and logging four carries and four receptions over the team's first two games. He hasn't seen the field since Week 2, however, and was apparently removed from the roster at some point over the past month. Miami (Ohio) has yet to announce a reason behind Johnson's removal from the roster, and it's unclear if he'll rejoin the RedHawks at any point or pursue a transfer elsewhere.

Johnson only played in six games as a freshman in 2018, but he did average just under five yards per carry (33 carries for 164 yards). More playing time is available in Miami of Ohio's running back mix this year, with Kenny Young and Alonzo Smith graduated, but Johnson will have to usurp at least Jaylon Bester on the depth chart to reach fantasy relevance.
