Ben Hicks
Arkansas Razorbacks
2018 Fantasy Outlook
During his second year in SMU's pass-first offense, Hicks threw for 3,569 yards along with 33 touchdowns to 12 picks, completing passes at 58.5 percent. He broke out for monster games against North Texas (312 yards and four touchdowns) and Navy (261 yards and four touchdowns), although he'll need to take better care of the football in 2018. Hicks will have to work with a new group of wideouts, after losing his top two options in Courtland Sutton and Trey Quinn: James Proche figures to step in as the No. 1 target, with C.J. Sanders and Brandon Benson to follow, respectively. Hicks has already heaped praise on the new Air Raid system implemented by coach Sonny Dykes, noting that high percentage throws are a bigger staple of the offense. With that, Hicks' efficiency could see an uptick and the tempo/volume combo will still be enough for him to post gaudy numbers. Read Past Outlooks
Transferring to Arkansas
QBNo Current School
January 14, 2019
Hicks announced on his personal Twitter account that he will be transferring to Arkansas in 2019.
The all-time leading passer in SMU history is on track to graduate and announced last month that he'll be leaving the Mustangs in the wake of a season that showed he may not have been the best fit for first-year head coach Sonny Dykes. With the move to Arkansas, Hicks will reunite with the head coach that recruited him to SMU in the first place, Chad Morris, not to mention offensive coordinator Joe Craddock. He'll be the leading candidate to direct the Razorbacks offense in 2019 with the team's top two quarterbacks from a season ago, Cole Kelley and Ty Storey, not expected to return to the program.
