Foot back to 100 percent entering camp
Foot
July 25, 2017
VandeBerg said Monday that his foot feels fully healthy, Marc Morehouse of The Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
This is big news for the Hawkeyes as VandeBerg is one of the very few established pass catching options on the roster heading into 2017. He got off to an excellent start last season, hauling in 19-of-29 targets for 284 yards and three touchdowns before suffering a season-ending foot injury. He re-injured his foot in spring practice, but with fall camp approaching, it appears that VandeBerg will be ready to hit the field without any restrictions. Look for more updates on VandeBerg as camp begins, but for now it seems that he's in line to be ready for the season opener against Wyoming.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
VandeBerg -- who was granted an additional season of eligibility by the NCAA -- rejoins the fold as the top receiving weapon returning to the Hawkeyes in 2017. In the four games prior to suffering a season-ending broken foot in a late-September practice, the 6-foot-1 senior had hauled in 19 of 29 targets for 284 yards and three touchdowns and was the favorite target of quarterback C.J. Beathard. However, Beathard graduated following the 2016 season and the Hawkeyes enter the fall with two quarterbacks battling for the starting gig who have thrown a combined 13 passes at the collegiate level. The change at quarterback -- along with a re-injury of that same foot in the spring -- could impact VandeBerg's potential in his final campaign. Still, if he can return to his prior form, the redshirt senior should prove one of the most productive pieces in the Hawkeyes' offense.
VandeBerg was Iowa’s top receiving threat in just about every sense last season as he led the Hawkeyes in receptions (65) yards (700) and targets (94). His skillset may not bring with it a lot of big play potential, but VandeBerg is a legitimate option in PPR formats thanks to his target volume that already figures to increase thanks to the departures of Iowa’s 2nd-through-5th-most targeted players from last season. An unproven group of receivers outside of VandeBerg may result in him drawing plenty of attention from opposing defenses until players like Jerminic Smith can establish themselves as legitimate threats in the passing game, however. Still, VandeBerg figures to be a top-five receiver in the Big Ten in terms of catches and if he’s able to match or outdo his catch production from 2015, his touchdown numbers should rise as well.
