Wilson's foot injury is unlikely to be healed in time for North Texas' upcoming bowl game, meaning that his college career is almost certainly over, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.

There were immediate concerns last week that Wilson's foot injury would be season-ending, but coach Seth Littrell all but confirmed Wednesday that Wilson wouldn't be back in time for a bowl. Nic Smith took over the lead back role for the Mean Green with Wilson out against Rice and responded with 26 carries for 178 yards and a score. He stands to remain in that role for Saturday's game against Florida Atlantic, as well as North Texas' bowl game. If Wilson's college career is indeed over, he'll finish with 561 carries for 3,204 yards (5.7 YPC) and 32 touchdowns and ranks fourth on North Texas' all-time leading rusher list.
