Ruled out for Friday
Sands (shoulder) will not play in the Bulls' regular-season finale Friday night against UCF, Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Sands also had to be held out of the game against Memphis this past Saturday with the same injury. With the official announcement declaring him out for Friday's game, Sands' season and his collegiate career will officially have come to a close as he is in his senior season with the program. He finishes his 2019 campaign with 49 carries for 207 yards and two touchdowns and goes out altogether with 94 carries for 383 yards and two touchdowns. USF will now officially turn to Kelley Joiner as their feature back for the game with UCF on Friday and for the future as both Sands and Jordan Cronkite (shoulder) are in their final years with the team in 2019.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Sands is on a seesaw that could lead to two very different usage patterns in 2019: either Johnny Ford will stay at slot receiver, where he practiced in the spring, opening up the door for Sands to seize the backup running back role, or Ford could make a move back to the backfield and essentially shut out Sands. If Sands does grab the number two role, he could be in line for a career year as a punch behind Jordan Cronkrite, who wore down last year as the season went on. But for Sands to truly turn into a fantasy option, he'll need several dominoes to fall his way, a bold risk for most season-long fantasy owners to take.
