2024 Tournament PreviewBaylor's formula is a bit different than past seasons. Usually known for defense, the Bears this year get it done on offense, ranking sixth in efficiency (per KenPom) thanks to the sixth-highest 3-point shooting percentage in the nation. Six players average double figures, led by five-star freshman Ja'Kobe Walter (14.2 ppg), who leads the team in treys with 69. Senior point guard RayJ Dennis (13.3 ppg) ranks seventh in the nation with 6.8 assists per game, and 6-9 senior Jalen Bridges shoots 40.1 percent from long range. Defensively, the Bears have fallen to 62nd nationally in efficiency (per KenPom), partly due to a lack of interior defense despite 7-0 freshman Yves Missi (11.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.6 bpg) -- Baylor allows 51.9 percent shooting inside in the arc, 245th in the nation. That's the biggest road block for Scott Drew's squad, which is looking to get to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since its national title run in 2021.
