Cofer failed to score a point on 0-for-5 shooting and collected just two rebounds across 30 minutes in Saturday's 80-75 OT victory over Louisville. He committed two turnovers and logged three personal fouls.
Cofer has now made three consecutive starts since returning from a similar foot injury that caused him to miss the first nine games of the season, but the production has a lot of catching up to do if he's going to reach the levels sustained in his junior year. He showed a nice flash of potential when he put up 21 points and seven rebounds against Duke back on Jan. 12, but that has been the highlight so far of an injury-riddled season. The unsung hero to this point has been Mfiondu Kabengele, who tallied 22 points and seven rebounds in Saturday's win. While Cofer continues to get back into rhythm, look for Kabengele to continue taking on an important role.
