Brandon Sampson

Forgoes final season at LSU

Sampson hired an agent earlier this month and will forgo his final season at LSU to remain in the 2018 NBA Draft, Sheldon Mickles of The Baton Rouge Advocate reports.
ANALYSIS
After seeing his production decline across the board in Will Wade's first season at the helm for LSU, Sampson, who averaged 7.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and one three-pointer in 18.9 minutes per game, decided it was best to move on from the program. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard was a highly regarded prospect from the Class of 2015, but his underwhelming college career will likely result in him going undrafted in June. If he's unable to secure a spot on an NBA summer-league team and earn an invite to training camp, Sampson will presumably pursue opportunities in the G League or overseas.
