NHL Playoffs: Bob's big payday is here

  • Who pays more for Sergei Bobrovsky -- the Florida Panthers or Calgary Flames? The contract just gets bigger and bigger with each save.
  • Matt Duchene has five goals in the playoffs. That's in seven games. BTW it's one more than he had in 23 after arriving in Columbus after the deadline deal. How far north of $8 million does he make annually on his next deal?

  • Samuel Girard and Cale Makar are a combined 40 years old. That's one year more than Joe Thornton. Man, they are fun to watch. The Avs are set on the blue line for a while.
  • Brad Marchand might have been the Conn Smythe leader after round one, but Brent Burns owns it now. The pride of Barrie is a complete beast.
  • Speaking of Marchand. He channeled his best Nazem Kadri when he punched Scott Harrington in the back of the head. One game? Two?
  • Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov have combined for three goals against the Blues. Break 'em up, even if it messes with the chemistry of the second line. Mats Zuccarello and Roope Hintz have been outstanding, but the Stars have no shot without the top-line guys going.
  • Pat Maroon didn't even think he scored. It took a good three steamboats for him to start celebrating. But that top cheddar was tasty. I didn't know he had that kind of hands.
  • Tuukka Rask has done his part. All three games were decided by one goal. Two went to overtime. It doesn't get much tighter than that.
