NHL: Bad breath and big saves deliver Game 4 win for Preds

Just a few things that caught my eye:

  • Now trending, P.K. Subban's bad breath and his commitment to Listerine. No wonder P.K. shut down Sid the Kid last game.
  • Some of the best play calls I've heard have come on the Punjabi Hockey Night in Canada. That is, until Brady Trettenero shared a Finnish broadcast clip via Twitter. Thanks, friend -- I'm still laughing.

  • Sidney Crosby's breakaway goal was a perfectly-timed jukebox move that dazzled, froze and flailed Pekka Rinne. But it only worked once.
  • Frederick Gaudreau's chair. I guess he'll get a stall soon enough given his goal-scoring prowess in the Final. He's now just the second player in NHL history to score his first three goals in a Final. And the third undrafted rookie to net at least three in a Final.
  • No, Preds' fans DO NOT fling catfish on the ice because of their captain, Mike "Fish" Fisher. But it's a delicious -- or smelly -- irony, isn't it?
  • So, how long before Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin realize they can't make lateral passes across the Preds' zone? Sheesh.
  • Speaking of Fish -- Carrie Underwood sure is a happy girl. Her man turned 37 today and he picked up his fourth point in four games in the Final after going 0-fer the rest of the postseason.
  • Jake Guentzel is probably still ahead of Rinne for the Conn Smythe, but holy beast mode, big Finn. A couple more stolen games and the hardware is his.
  • I'm going to buy stock in Listerine. Just sayin'.
