My Packers Draft Class

My Pack built a Super Bowl champion through the draft, so suffice it to say Ted Thompson has earned my explicit trust when it comes to picking the right guys on this wonderful weekend. Coming off a title, he can't make a pick that will truly upset me since I assume it is a guy who will contribute to a winning team sometime in the near future. But of course going in there are guys I have noticed for one reason or another that I think would be good fits in Green Bay, and the following is a list of the players I would prefer with each Packer pick, limited to 3 players per selection.

Rd. 1
32. (1) Brooks Reed, 3-4 OLB (Arizona), (2) Marvin Austin, 3-4 DE (North Carolina), (3) Derek Sherrod, OT (Mississippi State)

Rd. 2
64. (1) James Brewer, OT (Indiana), (2) Allen Bailey, 3-4 DE (Miami), (3) Tandon Doss, WR (Indiana)

Rd. 3
96. (1) Chris Carter, 3-4 OLB (Fresno State), (2) Austin Pettis, WR (Boise State), (3) DeMarcus Love, OT (Arkansas)

Rd. 4
129. (1) John Moffitt, OG (Wisconsin), (2) Greg Salas, WR (Hawaii), (3) Cliff Matthews, 3-4 DE/OLB (South Carolina)

131. (1) Jacquizz Rodgers, RB (Oregon State), (2) Johnny White, RB (North Carolina), (3) Davon House, CB (New Mexico State)

Rd. 5
163. (1) Cedric Thornton, 3-4 DE (Southern Arkansas), (2) Curtis Marsh, CB (Utah State), (3) Ian Williams, 3-4 DE (Notre Dame)

Rd. 6
197. (1) Mario Addison, 3-4 OLB (Troy), (2) Darrin Walls, CB (Notre Dame), (3) Josh Davis, OT (Georgia)

Rd. 7
204. (1) Mario Fannin, RB (Auburn), (2) Greg Lloyd, ILB (Connecticut), (3) Brandon Bair, 3-4 DE (Oregon)

233. (1) Chris Stewart, OG (Notre Dame), (2) Brandon Fusco, OG/C (Slippery Rock), (3) Keith Smith, WR (Purdue)

With the first 3 picks I'd like to see Thompson at least secure 1 DE and 1 OT. It would be ideal if they can also grab a pass rushing OLB or a sure-handed WR. At the end of the draft they should have a minumum of 4 new lineman with 2 for each side of the ball. But like I said before, I won't dispute any of their selections. When all is said and done, they're going to repeat as champs regardless of who they take this weekend. So I will be saying the same thing about their draft in 2012.
