The Giants Should |STAR|Consider|STAR| Signing Terrell Owens

As a Giants fan, I'd be intrigued by the possibility of getting him - after all they need a receiver, and Plaxico Burress could be in jail or suspended next season. While many would say that's a terrible idea, and he'd never get along with Tom Coughlin, keep in mind that T.O,. for all his faults, is a winner. The Eagles might well have won the Super Bowl if Donovan McNabb didn't get sick in the fourth quarter (T.O. would have been the MVP, and the Pats would be no more a dynasty than the Steelers), and the 13-3 Cowboys might well have won the Super Bowl in 2007 had Patrick Crayton not dropped a sure first down late in the game (no fault of Owens).

People might not like him, so they call him a clubhouse cancer, but if he was such a cancer why were his teams suddenly on the cusp of Super Bowl wins a year or two after they got him? A cancer is an individual talent whose presence causes the team to play worse. This is emphatically not the case with Owens who made McNabb and Tony Romo significantly better. He's also a very good downfield blocker.

Also, as a Giant, he'd live to burn the Eagles and Cowboys.

Bottom line, I don't think it'll happen, but they should at least |STAR|consider|STAR| it. The biggest hurdle might be finding a price for him that's realistic given his personality risk and age (35), but that's big enough to satisfy his ego. That price might not exist.
