Is Vince Young Done?

With Kerry Collins signing a two-year $15 million deal with $8.5 million guaranteed, obviously, he's going to be the starter. What does that mean for Young - at least another full season as a backup, and after that point, what's left for him?

Collins could get hurt, though he's one of the more durable quarterbacks in the game, and Young could still take over in 2010 if Collins were to struggle this year. But what does it say about the team's opinion of Young that it would give Collins that much money to stick around rather than take its chances? I realize the Titans are contenders (though the loss of Albert Haynesworth hurts), so experimenting again with Young isn't in their interest. But if Collins has a good season, and the Titans are contenders again heading into 2010, I can't imagine Young patiently absorbing his lessons with an eye on 2011.

Of course, this could all be moot because Young himself was having a confidence crisis even before Collins took over last year. But as a football fan, I'd like to see Young get another crack - in some capacity - before 2011.
