NHL Playoff Observations: Rust in Tampa Bay

Just a few things that caught my eye:

  • WD-40 -- just what the doctor ordered for big Ben Bishop. I could hear the rust creaking in his game all the way to Canada.
  • Tyler Seguin or Steven Stamkos -- which team misses their man the most and why?

  • Is Bruce Boudreau in the same situation as Ken Hitchcock? Lose a series, lose a job? #mistake if that's the case.
  • Shane Prince. One team's garbage really is another team's treasure. Right Ottawa?
  • Any doubt Shea Weber is a stud? Ask Corey Perry whether he has any doubts.
  • Speaking of Corey Perry. No goals so far, courtesy of Shea Weber and Roman Josi. It's a thing of beauty.
  • So, James Neal didn't like the elbowing penalty he got late in the second. You know, the one where he used his elbow as a hammer drill to the side of Simon Depres' head. Shut up, whiner. Seriously.
  • I can't wait for the Caps-Pens series. It's the Eastern Conference championship, just one round early.
