FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards

Bradley Beal, WSH at CHI ($9,300): Beal has been a beast since John Wall went down, as he's leading the team in minutes, shots taken, scoring, assists and usage since the Wall injury. It's led to some impressive fantasy production, as he has at least 43 fantasy points in five of his last six games. What really makes him an attractive option is the matchup, as he faces a Chicago Bulls defense that allows the third-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards. That was evident when Beal collected 39 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and two steals against them just over a month ago.

D.J. Augustin, ORL vs. MIL ($6,200): With Elfrid Payton being traded to the Phoenix Suns, Augustin has found himself in a starting role. In his first start as the starting point guard, Augustin played 35 minutes and dropped 41 fantasy points. That's the sort of production that should be expected, as Payton averaged 30 fantasy points a game in this same role. Milwaukee is allowing 18.3 points and 7.1 assists to opposing point guards, which both rank in the bottom-half in the league.

Patty Mills, SAN at GS ($4,300): Mills scored 27 fantasy points in just 16 minutes in his most recent game, and he's a decent bet to double those minutes here. The reason for that is the fact that Tony Parker and Dejounte Murray have both already been ruled out for this game, leaving Mills to take the majority of PG minutes. That's all you can ask for from a player who averages over a fantasy point per-minute, as he could easily see 30 minutes of action.

Forwards

Otto Porter, WSH at CHI ($7,400): Porter has been the other huge beneficiary in the absence of Wall, as he's in the best stretch of his season right now. In fact, Porter ranks second among regulars in usage rate since Wall went down, as he's scored at least 32 fantasy points in six of his last seven games. The matchup is spectacular, as well, with Chicago ranking 23rd in defensive efficiency, while allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards across its last 10 games.

Brandon Ingram, LAL at DAL ($7,100): Luke Walton recently said that Ingram is now the Lakers' point guard, and he's in the best stretch of his career right now in this expanded role. The recent trades should only add to that usage, as he'll no longer have to battle minutes or shots with the like of Jordan Clarkson or Larry Nance Jr. Not to mention, Lonzo Ball is still injured, which is why Ingram was given this role in the first place. That has allowed him to score at least 25 fantasy points in eight straight outings, while averaging over 35 fantasy points per game in that span. That becomes even more intriguing considering the Mavericks are allowing 56 fantasy points per game to opposing small forwards across their last five games, the fourth-worst mark in the league.

Dragan Bender, PHX vs. DEN ($3,800): This play is not for the faint of heart, as Bender is the sort of hit-or-miss player who could win or lose you a tournament. It's his most recent rise in role and production that makes him an enticing option, as he's averaging 34 minutes played and 23 fantasy points per game in his last four games. That's monster production from a near-minimum-priced player, and he's scored at least 35 fantasy points three times in his last 15 games.

Centers

Julius Randle, LAL at DAL ($7,100): Randle just got a boost of confidence from Lakers management, as they decided to keep him at the trade deadline and depart with his backup, Larry Nance Jr. Randle has at least 28 fantasy points in 10 straight games, averaging over 33 fantasy points per game in that span.

Robin Lopez, CHI vs. WSH ($4,100): Lopez has been far too consistent to be priced this cheaply, as his 23 fantasy points per game already surpasses 5X value. His role suggests that he's still the go-to center in Chicago, as he has at least 27 minutes played in three straight games. Lopez showed how dangerous he can be in his one matchup against Washington this season, as he went 7-for-8 from the field to score 16 points in just 21 minutes of action.
