2021 Fantasy Outlook
Leg injuries limited Bogdanovic to 44 games last season, but he played very well in his debut campaign with the Hawks. He played a super-sixth-man role, seeing 29.7 minutes per game and averaging career highs in points (16.4), rebounds (3.6), steals (1.1), field-goal percentage (47.3), three-point percentage (43.8), made threes (3.3) and free-throw percentage (90.9). Unsurprisingly, that resulted in Bogdanovic finishing with the best per-game fantasy rank (63) of his career -- the first time he's finished inside the top 100. The 20-year-old was especially efficient as a long-mid-range shooter (38-of-71, 54%) and a corner three-point shooter (42-of-78, 54%). Fantasy managers shouldn't expect a major change of pace for Bogdanovic in 2021-22. It's possible better health from his teammates -- namely De'Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish -- could result in Bogdanovic seeing a slightly reduced workload, but he should still finish inside the top 100 again. That said, his ceiling isn't especially high, so fantasy managers shouldn't feel a need to snipe him early in drafts. He'll likely be a common selection in the seventh round or later. Personal Bio

Bogdan Bogdanovic is the son of Koviljka and Dragan Bogdanovic and has a sister, Ivana. He was born in 1992 in Belgrade, Serbia. He is also related to the late Bogdan Bogdanovic, a noted Serbian architect. Bogdanovic played on many prominent junior league teams in the Belgrade area before signing his first professional agreement with KK Partizan of the Adriatic Basketball Association. He then played for the Turkish squad Fenerbahce. In the summer of 2019, Bogdanovic participated in the NBPA's "Branding in the Global Economy" program, which was held at SDA Bocconi School of Management and helps current NBA players gain international insight and experience in management and business. Bogdanovic is a big fan of the video-games series World of Warcraft. Fans can follow the veteran on Twitter (@LeaderOfHorde) and Instagram (bogdanbogdanovic).

College/International Summary

As an 18-year-old, Bogdanovic started his professional career by signing with Partizan Belgrade of the Adriatic Basketball Association in 2010. He didn't play much during his first two years with the club. In 2012-13, he made his EuroLeague debut and averaged 5.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist over 18 minutes per game. In 2013-14, Bogdanovic was a starter for Partizan. Over 23 EuroLeague games, the wing generated 14.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. Bogdanovic then signed with the Turkish team Fenerbahce. He led Fenerbahce to the Turkish Super League Finals titles in both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. Bogdanovic was named the Turkish Super League Finals MVP in 2017. The Belgrade, Serbia native led Fenerbahce in scoring in the playoffs with 125 points in seven games that season. In the 15-16 season, Bogdanovic led Fenerbahce in scoring during the regular season with 414 points in 29 games. He was a two-time Turkish League All Star in 2016 and 2017. Bogdanovic was drafted in the 2014 NBA draft in the first round (27th overall) by the Phoenix Suns. His draft rights were traded to the Sacramento Kings during the 2016 NBA draft.

ANALYSIS
Bogdanovic notched 10 points, three assists and one rebound in the preseason opener Monday, but he won't be available Wednesday. The Hawks may also be without Kevin Huerter (ankle), so Cam Reddish and Jalen Johnson will likely see major minutes against the Cavs.

2020

Bogdanovic played in 44 games and scored a career-high 16.4 points per game during his first season with the Hawks. The 28-year-old shot 47.3 percent from the field, 43.8 percent from three and 90.9 percent from the free-throw line -- all career-highs. In 27 starts, he averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals across 33.4 minutes per game. The 2014 first-round pick scored 20-plus points 25 times, including a season-high 32 on two occasions. During a 105-101 win over the Hornets, Bogdanovic went 9-22 from the field, 8-for-16 from three and 6-for-7 from the free-throw line en route to 32 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. On April 25 against the Bucks, he went 12-21 from the field, 6-for-11 from three and 2-for-3 from the free-throw line and scored 32 points during a 111-104 win. The 6-foot-6 guard grabbed five-plus rebounds 20 times, including a season-high nine against the Grizzlies on Dec. 26. He also dished out five-plus assists 16 times, including a season-high eight against the Heat on April 23. Defensively, Bogdanovic recorded two-plus steals 22 times and three-plus steals eight times, including a season-high four twice. The Serbian native also blocked at least one shot 15 times and multiple shots three times.

2019

Bogdanovic played in 61 of Sacramento's 72 games during the shortened 2019-20 season, making 28 starts. The third-year man scored a career-best 15.1 points per game, taking advantage of a career-high 29.0 minutes per contest. His 2.7 three-pointers per game were also a personal best. On Nov. 12, the versatile wing posted 25 points, a season-high 10 assists, four steals and three treys in a home win over the Trail Blazers. A week later, he scored a then-career-high 31 points along with seven assists, four rebounds and three steals, in a home win over the Suns. In that game, he drained a career-best seven three-pointers on nine attempts. The talented Serbian had three games with four steals and a dozen contests with at least two steals. During a Mar. 7 win at Portland, Bogdanovic tallied 27 points, eight assists, five rebounds, seven three-pointers, one steal and one block. In the Orlando bubble, the athletic wing displaced his career high from earlier in the season with a 35-point effort during an Aug. 6 win over the Pelicans.

2018

Bogdan Bogdanovic's sophomore season in the Association showed nice improvement over his rookie season of 2017-18. In 2018-19, the 6-foot-6 wing improved his per game averages for points (14.1), rebounds (3.5), assists (3.8), steals (1.0) and made threes (1.9). Bogdanovic was clearly comfortable in his sixth-man role for Sacramento, though he did start 17 of the 70 games in which he played. He led the Kings in scoring seven times and assists 13 times. The season started poorly, as a knee issue forced Bogdanovic to miss 11 of Sacramento's first dozen games. But he quickly healed, scoring 22 points in his third game back to help beat the Spurs on Nov. 12. On Jan. 21 versus the Nets, the rugged Serbian posted 22 points and a career-best 11 assists for his first career double-double. On Feb. 27, the shooting guard scored a career-high 28 points, to go with eight rebounds and eight assists, in a loss to the Bucks. On Mar. 30, Bogdanovic gathered a career-high nine rebounds, plus 24 points, in a loss at Houston.

2017

A former first round NBA Draft selection in 2014 (27th overall), Bogdanovic arrived stateside in 2017 for his first NBA season. He made an immediate impact for the Sacramento Kings. The 24-year-old played in all but four of Sacramento's contests, garnering 53 starts. Bogdanovic averaged 11.8 points, 3.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers over 27.9 minutes per night. The Serbian posted double figures in scoring on 51 separate occasions, including eight games with 20 or more points. Bogdanovic made his NBA debut on Oct. 23 and posted 12 points, three boards, two assists and two steals during a loss at Phoenix. On Jan. 17, Bogdanovic drained all six of his threes while posting a season-high 25 points in a loss to Utah. Bogdanovic's biggest strength was his ability to score, but he displayed numerous other skills throughout his rookie season. An excellent sharer of the ball, Bogdanovic posted at least 18 games with five or more assists. He racked up a season-high 10 assists in a win over Orlando on Mar. 9. Toss in the fact Bogdanovic added nearly one steal (0.9) per game while drilling 84.0 percent of his free throws and it's easy to see why the young Serbian was named to the 2017-18 All-Rookie Second Team.

Bogdanovic's 2019-20 campaign was very similar to his 2018-19 season, with the versatile wing averaging 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.7 threes and 1.0 steals in 29.0 minutes. He improved his efficiency from the field (44.0) and from three (37.3), but his free-throw percentage (74.1) fell. In fantasy, he ranked just outside of the top-100 for the second straight season. Heading into 2020-21, the 28-year-old finds himself on a new team, as he signed a four-year, $72 million contract to join the Hawks. Bogdanovic is likely to start at shooting guard for the revamped Hawks, who clearly have playoff aspirations. Given how much the Hawks paid to get Bogdanovic on the roster, we shouldn't be surprised if he crosses the 30-minute threshold with the team. When seeing at least 30 minutes last season, he averaged 19.0 points, 3.9 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 threes and 1.4 steals. Those numbers might be a little too high for Bogdanovic to reach, but at the same time, Atlanta plays fast and doesn't project to have a great defense. Ultimately, he's in a good opportunity to cross the top-100 threshold in fantasy for the first time in his career.
After starting 53 games during his rookie season, Bogdanovic started only 17 games during the 2018-19 campaign. Still, he had a substantial role by averaging 28 minutes per night. With the Kings playing at an up-tempo pace and his increased usage rate of 22.3 percent, he was able to average 14.1 points and 1.9 three-pointers per contest. On the downside, his increased shot attempts resulted in his shooting percentage dropping to 41.8 percent. While not a major factor in other areas, his respectable averages of 3.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.0 steal made him a viable fantasy asset. The problem for him heading into this season is the Kings' deep depth chart. Minutes at small forward figure to be hard for him to come by with Harrison Barnes and Trevor Ariza now in the fold. Bogdanovic should be the primary backup at shooting guard behind Buddy Hield, but it's not unreasonable to think that he could have a decline in both playing time and usage rate this season.
Bogdanovic, the 27th overall pick in 2014, played his first year in the NBA last season after spending time overseas. During the first year of a three-year, $27 million contract, the 25-year-old appeared in 78 games and drew 53 starts. He essentially played a sixth-man role, garnering 27.9 minutes per night. In that time, Bogdanovic averaged 11.8 points, 3.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game. Notably, he was a quality three-point shooter, hitting 1.7 threes per contest at 39.2 percent. In addition to his upside as a scorer (eight performances with at least 20 points), Bogdanovic showed potential as a passer. He posted 18 games with at least five dimes, including a 10-assist effort. And, though he averaged less than a steal, he managed to rack up five contests with 3-plus swipes. His play would suggest he’s worthy of more run this season, though with Buddy Hield and Justin Jackson still in the mix, it’s unclear how each player’s role will shake out. The idea of No. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley playing small forward has also been publicly thrown around, which would complicate things further for Bogdanovic.
Bogdanovic will play in the NBA for the first time this upcoming season after being drafted in 2014 by the Suns with the 27th overall pick. Through a trade in the summer of 2016, his rights ended up with the Kings, who had enough faith in the 24-year-old to sign him to a three-year, $30 million contract in July 2017. Last season, with Turkish club Fenerbahce, Bogdanovich posted 14.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists across 27.9 minutes per game while drilling 43.0 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc. Though the 6-foot-6 shooting guard will be competing for playing time in the loaded Kings backcourt, his hefty rookie contract combined with the fact that the team let Ben McLemore walk without protest suggests the Sacramento brass is anticipating him being a legitimate contributor. That said, his role likely won't be fully determined until training camp concludes. For that reason, he should probably be viewed cautiously from a Fantasy perspective, as his workload is far from set in stone and he still has to adjust to the NBA game.
Signed a three-year, $30-million contract with the Kings in June of 2017.
