FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

It's a four-game Sunday evening slate on the penultimate weekend of the regular season, but there are multiple viable value options available. Pricing remains reasonable on several players who have taken on larger roles recently, and as is customary during this time of the year, injuries are also opening up opportunities. Without further delay, let's see where affordability and upside meet at each position on Sunday evening's schedule:

POINT GUARD

Tomas Satoransky, WAS at DEN ($5,900): Satoransky has scored more than 25 fantasy points in eight consecutive games, a sample that includes five tallies over 30. That makes his price especially appealing Sunday. The Nuggets have been a bit more vulnerable to point guards recently as well, allowing 43.0 fantasy points per game to the position over the last five as compared to a 35.0 figure for the season. Satoransky also brings a diverse fantasy profile, as he's capable of contributing across the stat sheet and has a pair of double-doubles in his last five contests.

Bryn Forbes, SA vs. SAC ($4,200): Rostering Forbes can often be an adventure due to his yo-yo production, but the price is certainly right relative to upside Sunday. Moreover, the young guard has played very well in three of his last four, scoring 21.4 to 41.2 fantasy points while shooting 62.9 percent on those contests. The Kings could certainly facilitate another strong return. Sacramento brings the third-fastest pace in the NBA (106.9 possessions per game). They've also allowed 54.2 fantasy points per game to two-guards over the last five – including the fifth-most made threes (4.8) to the position per contest over that span – and have surrendered the fifth-highest offensive efficiency rating (23.6) to twos on the season.

SHOOTING GUARD

Delon Wright, MEM at LAC ($6,000): Wright once again thrived with extended minutes Saturday, lighting up the Suns for 39.1 fantasy points over 28 minutes. He should find himself with extended minutes again Sunday with Avery Bradley (lower leg) still sidelined. The Clippers have allowed 58.9 fantasy points per game over the last five to shooting guards, with 50.0 percent shooting to the position over that span. Then, Wright has flashed an even higher ceiling that Saturday's recently, as he also racked up 50.1 fantasy points versus the Thunder just three games ago and has a game over 40 this season as well.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, SAC at SA ($5,200): The Hornets' Dwayne Bacon ($5,400) is an interesting option in his spot as well, but Bogdanovic has outpaced his reasonable salary on more than one occasion recently. He just tallied 45.8 fantasy points versus the Rockets on Saturday and is averaging 17.3 points on 54.3 percent shooting, including a blistering 72.2 percent from three-point range, in his last four games overall. That's led to an average of 31.5 fantasy points over that span, and a similar caliber of production could continue in Sunday's matchup. The Spurs allow a bottom-10 three-point success rate (36.1 percent) overall and have yielded a bottom-10 offensive efficiency rating (22.3) to two-guards for the season as well.

SMALL FORWARD

Miles Bridges, CHA at GS ($5,500): Bridges is thriving over his last five games while drawing starts at small forward, as he's averaging 32.9 fantasy points on the strength of 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals. The rookie is shooting 60.8 percent during that stretch on 10.2 shot attempts per contest, including 57.9 percent from behind the arc. The Warriors are about average as far as a positional matchup goes, but they've allowed 36.0 percent shooting from three-point range the last three games and a 37.4 percent figure to small forwards specifically for the season.

Troy Brown Jr., WAS at DEN ($4,300): Trevor Ariza will miss Sunday's game with his groin injury, which should thrust Brown back into the starting five, or into extended minutes at minimum. The 2018 first-round pick has a trio of tallies of more than 20 fantasy points in his last six games and while averaging 27.8 minutes in those contests. The matchup versus the Nuggets is a favorable one as well, as Denver is allowing 37.3 fantasy points per game to threes, along with the sixth-highest offensive efficiency rating (22.6) to the position.

POWER FORWARD

Frank Kaminsky, CHA at GS ($5,000): Kaminsky's minutes continue to fluctuate game to game, but he's at least a regular part of the rotation and has been often outpacing his current price recently. The young big has scored 30 or more fantasy points in each of the last two games, and he's been over 20 in three other contests over the last six. The Warriors will bump up the pace a bit Sunday as well, and they come in allowing the fifth-most fantasy points (53.3) per game to power forwards over the last five.

JaMychal Green, LAC vs. MEM ($4,000): Green gets a crack at his old squad Sunday, and he may have a chance to do it with extended minutes. The young big could find himself in the starting five again Sunday if Danilo Gallinari remains out with an ankle issue, a role that Green generated 36.0 fantasy points in against the Cavs on Saturday on the strength of an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double. Green also totaled 28.6 fantasy points the game prior versus the Bucks, and even though the Grizzlies don't present as an attractive positional matchup on paper, he brings very little risk at his current price in a game where he should have an extra dose of motivation.

CENTER

Mason Plumlee, DEN vs. WAS ($4,800): Frontcourts have bedeviled the Wizards all season, putting Plumlee in play as a low-cost option Sunday. The veteran big has flashed a ceiling north of 30 fantasy points on multiple occasions this season, including in five games since the All-Star break. He also just scored 25.2 fantasy points on March 21 against this same Wizards squad and Washington comes in allowing the highest offensive efficiency rating (87.5) to opposing frontcourts this season, along with the highest shooting percentage (53.8) and offensive efficiency rating (64.3) in the paint as well.
