Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

After a quiet Monday, the NBA bounces back with a busy 10-game slate Tuesday. That leaves us with a ton of options to sift through on Yahoo, so let's get right down to business and examine some players to target and avoid while creating your entry.

GUARDS

Buddy Hield, SAC at DAL ($29): These two teams just played in each last week and Hield thrived with 43.4 Yahoo points across 35 minutes. Hield has a 25.2 percent usage rate and the Mavericks have allowed an average of 114.7 points across their last 15 games, so it should come as no surprise that Hield played well in that contest. With the Kings also playing at the fastest pace (104.4 possessions per game) in the league, Hield is a great option at this reasonable price.

Frank Jackson, NO vs. ATL ($12): Things could be extremely dire for the Pelicans' backcourt Tuesday. Not only will Jrue Holiday (abdomen) and E'Twaun Moore (quad) remain sidelined, but Elfrid Payton (wrist) is also listed as questionable. Even if Payton does play, Jackson is going to receive a heavy workload once again. He's scored at least 24.1 Yahoo points in four of his last five contests and provides plenty of upside at this price with both the Pelicans and the Hawks inside the top-three in the league in pace of play.

Guard to Avoid

Kyle Lowry, TOR vs. CHI ($29): The Raptors enter this contest healthy while the Bulls will likely be without Zach LaVine (thigh), Otto Porter Jr. (shoulder) and Kris Dunn (back). This game has blowout written all over it, so it could provide the perfect opportunity for the Raptors to give Lowry some extra rest in the second half. With so many other great options on this packed slate, adding Lowry to your lineup isn't a risk worth taking.

FORWARDS

Marvin Bagley III, SAC at DAL ($32): Bagley's price jumped up six dollars compared to his last game Sunday, and for good reason. He's been a reliable source for production as the season comes to a close, scoring at least 34.7 Yahoo points in five straight games. He scored 47.4 Yahoo points when these two teams met last week and has an excellent chance to thrive once again based on the Mavericks lack of depth up front.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL vs. WAS ($15): Reggie Bullock (foot) sat out Sunday against the Kings, which opened up a starting spot for Caldwell-Pope. He came through with 28.4 Yahoo points in 33 minutes. Bullock is listed as questionable for Tuesday and Josh Hart (knee) is also out, which could once again leave Caldwell-Pope with added playing time. That makes him someone to target considering both of these teams are inside the top-nine in the league in pace of play.

Forward to Avoid

Cedi Osman, CLE vs. BOS ($18): It's been an injury-plagued season for the Cavaliers, but they are actually the healthiest that they have been in a while. That's especially the case for their frontcourt with Kevin Love, Larry Nance Jr. and Tristan Thompson all available. Across the last three games with each of them healthy, Osman has averaged just 14.9 Yahoo points. Expect his production to continue to be limited in this contest.

CENTERS

Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN vs. LAC ($53): The Timberwolves' depth chart has been decimated by injuries, placing even more of the scoring burden on Towns. He hasn't disappointed by averaging 31.4 points across his last 13 games. During that stretch, he's also averaged 14.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest. The Clippers have allowed the most Yahoo points per game (46.9) to opposing centers, setting Towns up with the potential for another monster stat line.

Thomas Bryant, WAS at LAL ($14): Bryant has started the last two games for the Wizards and looks to be locked into that role for the rest of the season. Despite playing two tough opponents in the Nuggets and Heat, he scored 37.6 and 29.7 Yahoo points, respectively. He'll be faced with a much easier foe in the Lakers, making him a prime target if you want to save money at the center position.

Center to Avoid

Hassan Whiteside, MIA vs. ORL ($16): This is a huge matchup between two teams fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Instead of being asked to carry the team when it matters the most, Whiteside has actually been shifted to a role off the bench. He wasn't playing a ton by averaging 24 minutes a game this season, but he's only averaging 17 minutes across 11 games off the bench. With that little playing time, it's hard to make a case for playing him over Bryant, especially since Bryant is cheaper.
