FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Friday's NBA slate begins at 7:00 PM Eastern time and features nine games. There's no shortage of options to choose from here, but certain players stand out from the pack as the top value plays at their respective prices. FanDuel's format only counts the eight highest scores in your nine-player lineup, so keep that in mind when making your selections.

POINT GUARD

Reggie Jackson, DET at ATL ($5,700): Jackson has picked his game up a notch as Detroit continues to push for one of the East's final playoff spots. Over the past 10 games, the point guard's chipping in 18.7 PPG and 5.9 APG. His production in other categories is still lacking, but Jackson's primed to finish with gaudy totals in both points and assists against Atlanta's league-worst defense at 118.2 points allowed per game.

Darren Collison, IND vs. NO ($6,500): Collison entered the All-Star break on fire, beautifully orchestrating Indiana's offense over the past eight games with 15.3 PPG, 3.5 RPG and 7.0 APG. He added 1.1 steals per contest while turning the ball over just 1.4 times per game. Look for Collison to be just as effective in his first post-break action, as he draws a favorable home matchup against a Pelicans team that's surrendering the league's fourth-highest per-game point total at 114.8.

SHOOTING GUARD

Andrew Wiggins, MIN at NY ($7,000): Wiggins missed the last two games prior to the All-Star break with an illness, but he was rolling prior to getting sick with 51.3 and 49.5 fantasy points in his last two games played. With plenty of recovery time thanks to the week off, look for Wiggins to return to his previous form against a Knicks team that allows the sixth-most points per game in the league at 114.0.

Dennis Schroder, OKC vs. UTA ($5,000): Schroder's a nice against-the-grain play here against Utah's stingy defense. He's a massive bargain at just $5,000, being capable of significantly outperforming that valuation regardless of opponent. Schroder missed his team's last two games due to the birth of his child but practiced Thursday, suggesting he'll be back in action Friday. Don't expect him to stay this affordable for long once he rejoins the lineup.

SMALL FORWARD

Jonathan Isaac, ORL vs. CHI ($6,500): With Orlando setting its sights on the future, Isaac has eclipsed his season playing time average of 26 minutes in each of the past nine games. The sixth overall selection in the 2017 draft has flourished in his expanded role, averaging 14.1 PPG, 7.2 RPG and 0.9 APG, along with 1.2 steals and 2.4 blocks per game. Isaac's contributions in the hustle stats make him a particularly valuable fantasy commodity, and the athletic forward should add to his prowess in the steals and blocks categories against a Chicago team that gets blocked seventh-most in the league at 5.4 per game while turning the ball over 10th-most at 14.7 per game.

Rudy Gay, SA at TOR ($6,000): While Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan will draw the headlines, Gay will be motivated to deliver against one of his former teams, and his ability to guard both forward spots should make the veteran a key matchup option for coach Gregg Popovich against the versatile Raptors rotation. Gay brings some nice momentum into this one as well, having averaged 16.3 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 3.7 APG, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks over his past nine appearances.

POWER FORWARD

Blake Griffin, DET at ATL ($9,200): Griffin was hot heading into the break, with 29.5 PPG, 7.3 RPG and 6.5 APG in his past four games. Just like his teammate Jackson, Griffin should thrive in both the points and assists categories against Atlanta's porous defense. Griffin's scoring contribution should be significantly larger than Jackson's and the veteran power forward's also a good source of rebounds, making him worth paying up for in this favorable matchup.

JaMychal Green, LAC at MEM ($4,300): Green's settled in nicely with his new club, posting 21.4 and 26.9 fantasy points in 20 and 24 minutes, respectively, over his past two games. If the trade deadline acquisition's playing time keeps climbing, he won't be available for just $4,300 much longer. Green should also be extra motivated to make an impact here against the club that just dealt him.

CENTER

Cody Zeller, CHA vs. WAS ($6,400): Zeller's been flying under the radar, but he's quietly put together a terrific stretch over his past eight games with 11.5 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 2.6 APG, 0.9 steals and 1.0 block per game. The affordable center should once again stuff the stat sheet against a vulnerable Wizards team that's allowing the second-most points at 116.9 and third-most rebounds at 55.9 per game this season. Those numbers climb to a league-high 119.1 and second-worst 56.9 on the road.
