2024 Fantasy Outlook
The age-old issue of Coors Field was as present as ever for Gomber last season, which is evidenced by his 7.05 ERA in 15 home starts compared to a 3.68 ERA in 12 starts on the road. That's a sharp contrast to his first season with Colorado in 2021, when the home/road splits were flipped (2.09 home ERA vs. 6.22 road ERA). Gomber made 27 starts last year and should again be in the rotation for 2024, but the volatile pitching environment and inconsistent track record limits his appeal to that of an occasional streamer. Falls to Phillies
Gomber (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out four over 5.1 innings.
ANALYSIS
After allowing a two-run homer to J.T. Realmuto in the first inning, Gomber rebounded to keep Philly off the board until Bryce Harper's RBI double in the sixth. However, the Rockies couldn't get anything going off Ranger Suarez, sticking Gomber with a 5-0 loss, his first of the season. The left-hander sports a 4.95 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB through his first four starts (20 innings) this season. Gomber's currently on track to face the Padres at home in his next outing.

Moves to bullpen role
Gomber has lost his rotation spot and will be available out of the bullpen starting Sunday, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com.
ANALYSIS
The southpaw posted a decent 4.11 ERA and 1.20 WHIP through his first eight starts of the campaign, but he surrendered 24 runs across his past four outings to lose his rotation spot. The left-hander will be a weapon off the bench if he can regain his composure, and as a result, Ryan Feltner will take Gomber's spot in the rotation going forward.

2022
2021
2020

2016
Gomber was arguably the Rockies' best starter in 2021 and inarguably their best starter at Coors Field, where he held a 2.09 ERA in nine outings. However, in 2022 he found himself demoted to the bullpen after posting a 5.97 ERA in the first half. The left-hander was a little better in relief, although his issues with the home run ball and with right-handed batters remained. Gomber should get another opportunity to start again in 2023 and his nice allotment of secondary pitches gives him a shot at some success. His fastball has been so hittable, though, that it's difficult to imagine him showing enough consistency to be anything more than an occasional streamer on the road unless he goes offspead-heavy with his pitch mix.
