DeCarlo's seventh-inning blast was his first of the spring. The 23-year-old shortstop has endured an arduous journey through the minors that's included seven different stops, most recently at High-A Bakersfield in 2016. DeCarlo slashed a respectable .265/.379/.454 with 21 doubles, four triples, 14 homers, 54 RBI, 59 walks and 58 runs over 448 plate appearances, and he's demonstrated some decent pop over his last two campaigns overall. DeCarlo could conceivably start the 2017 campaign at Double-A Jackson, with his performance the rest of the spring potentially a factor in the decision.
